iflix when started is quite good with lots of tv series. but lately it has been dropping almost everything and totally switched to local production mostly. so imho, that's nothing worthwhile on iflix anymore. don't even need to compare. netflix now stomps all over iflix easily.

and btw, iflix is more like RM49 for one whole year nowadays. so less than RM5 per month. but still, content almost nil to watch.

there are other free streaming like Viu also better than iflix. or if you have a vpn subscription, there are lots of other choices such as hulu, imdb freedive etc. any one of the streaming service is easily better than local and other asian originated streaming service at the moment.

In this discussion, we have to restrict ourselves to legal streams. If the legal stream is outside of Malaysia, then we have to add VPN costs to it. Reliable VPN is not cheap either.

actually there are many special offer for vpn from time to time, which is sold at deep discount rate for lifetime or long duration. i got lifetime vpn on getflix, and is working fine with all legal streams from usa. only netflix is the one that will keeps causing issue from time to time which you will need to have better vpn if you want less downtime when you switch regions.

for those who really wants to watch a larger content selections via legal streams, a vpn is really a good choice. just wait till they have lifetime discount, or 2-5 years deep discount and subscribe it, and the cost of using the vpn will be much lower. if one does not want to deal with vpn, then netflix is essentially the only good choice.

amazon prime video is also available here, but its content choice is just a small slice of what is actually offered in USA. although amazon does sell the subs cheaper here at USD$5.99 per month, instead of USD$11.99 per month in USA.
