Car Saga vvt, current setup

4-2-1 > straight flow bullet > straight flow muffler(in 2' out 3.5')
all piping size standard

my problem now fuel consumption very high, roughly around 8km per 1 liter, power at low rpm so so, high rpm power very hnghhh

would it be better to put s-flow muffler or twisted mid bullet to bring back some backpressure?

the problem is at :

1) everything is straight-through ..

I'm sure now your car is really noisy, and no power , right? You need to press that pedal alot for the car to move ..

You can rectify this issue either by:

1) Going back to your stock muffler (less noisier too)

2) Going to a s-flow muffler

You will feel the torque come back, trust me.

And don't bother with those bullshit "twisted / spiral mid-bullets" ... useless . Those exhaust mechanics always recommend those 'spiral bullets' because experienced-modders do not buy them, so these mechs try to sell it off to newbies whenever possible..

Really noisy like vtec on 3k+ rpm, the power only come at high rpm, below really feel lack of torque

will try find other good s flow muffler though, really dont want going standard back yet hahaa

yes.. exactly the symptom of lacking 'backpressure' ...

actually our cars don't exactly need backpressure, but i don't want to go detail into that ... to make it simple, as long as your car is a street daily driven car, and not a track-car where it's driven always at high-rpm ... then you better not go all-straight ..

yes just get a normal s-flow muffler .. get the RIGHT size for your car ya . then you'll be fine . all the best !

p/s: if you're not doing big engine mods, just stick to your stock piping size ya . no matter what those mechanics say.

thats more worst than mine campro iafm with 4-2-1 > straight flow bullet > no muffler and 1.6' piping
and is auto. laugh.gif
btw what brand is the extractor?

27needles suggested the best suggestion with least headache.

noted, will either find good sflow muffler or weld back stock muffler, but will twinloop muffler perform better than s flow?

Use twin loop muffler, it's like free flow but still retains the torque band and not sounding obnoxiously loud like straight thru. Only around rm250-300/pc. I am using those now.

No advised from anyone, just experimenting by myself and some reading from internet

i never record my fuel consumption because im a heavy footer, but this setup really feel minyak macam air, fill rm20 like 90km only then finish, walaoeh

yaa too much experiment already bruh hahaa, that wandy custom exhaust really pranggg la the sound, i even get pop and bang with that muffler, i loved it but too bad not so compatible with my 1.3cc engine, now wanna sell those 2 muffler and looking for aftermarket sflow or twin loop

Another thing you could consider... If you really like your "prangg" sound.. (which I cannot tahan hahaha) ... is to maybe add a 2nd resonator/ bullet (a bit bigger or longer type of straight-through bullet) at the middle .. after your current bullet .. that mayy gain back your low end torque , and quieten the rasp (high frequency bzzzzzz sound) from the noisy muffler..

But if u like the bzzzzzz raspy cheap muffler type of sound, then.... can't help you hahahaaha... laugh.gif

how about if i add back my original resonator? original resonator really good at silencing right, might even gaij back my low end power since it is not straight flow?

Don't waste money to buy another big bullet already..... Quite wasting money spending so much on exhaust mod, no..?

Just get a twin loop first , see how do you like it... my guess is your exhaust note will become bassier, no more rasp, and you'll gain back your torque.. done.

Im not sure how your stock resonator is like.. you can have a look inside it. If you can see out the other end, then it's straight.. if its a big tabung , then probably it's
chambered or s-flow..

Original resonator are tuned to cancel a certain frequency on your stock exhaust system.. your system isn't stock anymore. So I cant say for sure what frequencies will be aftected if you decide to put back your stock resonator.. It probably wouldnt do much at all, especially if you're gonna still be using it with your straight "prang" muffler. Lol

The position of the first bullet is important too.
Last time I had my bullet closer to the tank than the engine.
Then I had it closer to the engine.

Closer to the engine had the idling much quiter, but 2k rpm and above, still sing like a retard. sweat.gif

I was thinking of that 2nd bullet/resonator to reduce slightly more noise during cruising situation.
