Forumer you are complaining against: REDFIELD / Victor Teh Wui King Maybank 112679067465

Item being sold: Nintendo Switch Neon (Used)

Original thread link: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4787971

Date of transaction: 8 June 2019

Details/timeline of the complaint :

3rd June 2019
11:04PM
- Initially I open a topic selling a Used Nintendo Switch Neon with no purchase receipt on lowyat priced at rm 899 on 3rd June 2019

4th June 2019
10:38PM
- REDFIELD pm me on 4th of June 2019 inquiring the postage price and region of the said console.
11:41PM
- I told him the console is sold already because there is already buyer that have placed deposit for the said console.

8th of June
8:04PM
- I messaged @REDFIELD via whatsapp asking if he is still looking for Nintendo Switch because I have other set that is available.
- The available Nintendo Switch Neon is another set with purchase receipt on August 2018 and is priced at rm949 which include courier and postage insurance fee.
8:59PM
- He requested video of the said console to show that it is a working unit. I sent him photos of the Console, box, accessories, purchase receipt and also video of me testing the console on Megaman X Legacy
- He agreed and requested for more pictures with a note attached written cyferwong@lowyat.net. I abide and sent him 2 photo of the console with the written note (cyferwong@lowyat.net)
9:33PM
- He transferred the money on 8th of June 2019 9pm, I asked if he wants it to be sent on Sunday or Monday since J&T express opens everyday. He wants it to be posted on Monday.
- He told me to give him the tracking once I posted, I agreed. I also capture video displaying the console serial number and joycon serial number. The video also display me testing on analog (to show there is no issue with any drifting) and also tested on each of the button input to show that all the input have no issue. I did not press the home button and screen capture button because Input Device doesn't display the screenshot/home button.

9th June 2019
11:03PM
- I once again sent 4 photos of the console set before and after wrapping them up to be ready for postage tomorrow.

10th of June 2019
11:27AM
- I informed REDFIELD that I am heading to J&T Express and I sent him picture of the parcel with tracking numbers and postage slips.

12th of June 2019
11:16AM
- REDFIELD first message stated he received the parcel and said he received the console but the home button is broken, he threaten to report me for selling faulty product unless I refund him rm50 to repair the said issue.
- I told him that I tested everything before I wrapped up the console sets and everything works. I requested a video of the home button not working but he ignored my request.
- He accused me that I already knew the console wasn't working and the initial buyer rejected/returned the console then I sell it to him.
- I clarified to him that the console that I initially posted in lowyat isn't the same console (The initial console has no purchase receipt hence it is cheaper at rm899). I also told him that the said console is still in my possession because the buyer have placed deposit but yet to collect it.
- He stated that he doesn't trust me and asked me to refund rm50 for repair. I stated a few points to him mentioning:
a) The set he received isn't the same set as the one that is already sold
b) The sold set is still on me because the buyer placed deposit but yet to collect it
c) I told him that I always test the console before I do postage . I told him that I also tested it on a game.
d) If the home button doesn't work, he can refer to the shop written on the receipt.
e) Refund won't be made
- REDFIELD said that he will report me.
11:44am
- As a seller, I felt that it's partially my responsibility to at least check on it so I check with Impulse to inquire about the warranty. Turns out Joycon warranty is only 3 months.
- I told REDFIELD that if he wants then he can send back the console to me and I will refund the sum. But upon considering the cost of courier (Around rm26), I'm considering to just give him RM50 and be done with it.
- I told REDFIELD that I am willing to refund RM50 on the condition of him showing a video capturing that the home button isn't working with his lowyat ID written on a note in it.
2:16PM
- REDFIELD again ignored my request and instantly accuse me knowing the home button is broken before I sell it to him. Telling me off why would I waste time pretending not to know anything
- I told him to accuse me all he wants but I am trying to accommodate to this issue. I also told him that I have sold plenty of Switch consoles and some of it is via postage but none of the buyer have any issue. I told him again that I am willing to refund RM50 but all I wanted to see the is the video because I personally tested the console before packing and posting it.
- I shared screenshot of my chat between me and the buyer that placed deposit on the first console (the one doesn't have receipt) to let REDFIELD know that there is a buyer that did placed deposit and is picking it up this weekend. 3 screenshot of the said discussion is shared.
- I told REDFIELD that I am just trying to prove that I am not lying nor am I trying to sell any defective product/item. I am only requesting a video with his ID attached in it showing the home button isn't working and I am willing to refund rm50. REDFIELD read my message but did not reply. (3:27PM)
8:14PM
- I messaged REDFIELD again to ask for the video recording showing the home button isn't working. I told him to send it to me and I will refund RM50. No reply.

13th of June 2019
11:56AM
- REDFIELD finally replied and told me he will send later since he's busy now. I told him for the video to go to system setting to show the serial information and test the home button on serial information screen.
12:51PM
- He sent me a video with his lowyat ID noted on it but I find it insufficient because:
a) Serial Information screen isn't on the video
b) I can't hear anything since he tested in on a game, I cannot hear any button clicking sound. It felt as if the button is just lightly tap
12:53PM
- I sent a video example to show him how. I also told him that my video have distinctive clicking sound when I pressed the home button.
12:59PM
- REDFIELD starts throwing insults at me stating I'm a liar and I sold him broken switch then pretended that I know nothing about it.
- I told him that I'm trying to accommodate to him regardless of how rude he is towards me and all the accusation. He framed me for selling him rejected console but I shared to him my chat with the other buyer. I also showed him a video example of how to demonstrate the button/console isn't working but he chose to insults me instead.
- I told him that I am willing to refund RM50 but I just need a proper video showcasing that the button doesn't work.
- I told him to just do it like what I did in my video and I will refund him RM50.

From time and time again I tried to resolve and accommodate to this issue the best that I can. I tried to be civil and respectful when I discuss this issue with him but all he gave in return is insults and accusations one after another. I tried to provide refund on a condition of a video based on what I wanted to see but he ignored me and wouldn't do that. When he does, he ignore what I asked him to record and starts insulting me again.

Normally in disputes I find myself to be on the buyer side ... but for this one I think its clear you're on the right.

The fact that the buyer can't do such a simple thing as prove what he is saying shows that his behaviour is highly suspect.

Looking at the video that he sent you, it looks super fake. He looks like he's tapping instead of actually pressing the button.
Also no proof that its the actual console that you sold him.

So he's either:
1) Too stupid to follow very simple instructions like clearly pressing a button and showing a serial number.
2) He's lying.

There's a very easy way for my opinion to completely shift in his favour though, he just has to send a proper video to prove what he says is true.
But that doesn't mean I will no longer think he's stupid.

Thank you for your reply and opinion. I only wish to resolve this issue with minimal dispute or such which is why I am willing to refund RM50 as he requested if he can send me a video based on what I requested. Because Nintendo Console and Joycon have their own unique serial number which is accessible in Serial Information Screen. If the Serial Number is the same as the one that I took for him initially and the Home Button testing shows that it is broken then I am willing to just refund RM50 and be done with it.

I am willing to do the refund because it is my careless mistake that I did not capture the video of me pressing home button after testing Megaman game for him to exit to home screen. I stopped the video after trying Megaman because I'm getting ready to capture video of testing the button input and analog. I have sold plenty of switch devices (COD and postage) but there is nothing but positive review. I never thought this mistake would cause me so much grieve, accusation and insults. Which is why I'm ready to do the refund if he can share the video that fits what I asked for

The tapping video gave it away. What kind of retard test button like that, unless there's motive behind it.

Based on the chat screenshot. The seller handled it well. Offered assistance and solution to the issue escalated by the buyer and communicated diplomatically. On the other hand, the buyer is rude, childish, hideous and fishy as f*ck. I said fishy because he can't even do simple things like furnishing the seller with the requested info for the refund/rebate or whatever you call that. Especially the controller serial number part. Why I said fishy is because I think this might not the only console he have. The buyer have posted ads selling Nintendo switch games 6 months ago in LYN.

I think there's must be a motive behind why the buyer is so hideous. Maybe it is another controller? From another set he initially owned? Why would he purchase another console if he already have one? A re-seller? A scalper? Swapped the controller? Or just trying to make a quick 50 bucks? Based on message reply and buyer attitude, I wouldn't be surprise if he purposely spoil the button now after reading this dispute post just to proof his retarded point.

Anyway, disregarding all the theories.... the buyer is still a rude, childish and hideous f*ck. Definitely a person to avoid dealing with. I feels so bad for the seller.

Bro, I can take a lie detector test If you don't believe me but seeing as you do not care over RM50 repair bill, I don't either. I'm just warning other buyer to stay away from this crooked stupid lying seller.. you can see he closed his thread even before buyer can leave him negative feedback. There's another seller before me that returned the Nswitch, if I understand the situation correctly, need moderator to check his inbox to confirm this. I don't want to spend a lot of time arguing over this stupid seller as I have many times bought stuff here that isn't working. The worst being buying a pasworded/locked WiiU from a woman that cannot remember what the password is.

As I mentioned time after times, I also show you the screenshots of my conversation with the buyer that you accused of returned/rejected before you.You refuse to acknowledge the screenshots, the arrangement that I had with my buyer and you only wants to persecute me.

I closed my thread because the buyer placed deposit already towards the console that I started/listed in here (RM899 used Neon Console with no purchase receipt). Check on the timeline that I messaged you.

As for the need of moderator to check my inbox. If you did read or pay any attention to the screenshot I sent to you, you would have realize that screenshot between me and the buyer is on Facebook. I also list this item for sale on Facebook if you are wondering why.

You have never try to understand the situation correctly, all you have done since yesterday is accusing and insulting me. Again, you chose to insults and defame me instead of wanting to clarify things.

Wow you knew you're selling a broken product without telling the seller/customer & you would post here against me or are you just plain stupid that you didn't even know the Home buttion isn't working when you sent me all those video to prove it's all working. Congrats on getting on my top 3 most stupid online seller I've dealt with.

I suspect this seller is a retailer selling used/broken/returned since he has mutiple switch sets. Again my advice to other seller is don't buy from him if you don't want to go through what I went through.

At this point I think myself and the other neutral person who commented here no longer care about the 'he says - she says' kind of argument.

We're judging what we can see with our eyes and what makes logical sense to us, and on both counts it doesn't look good for you bro.

More so now that you didn't respond to the questions we raised in our comments and went on a tangent to attack the seller.
