i got charged 4 ringgit for receiving some nonsense promotional sms from one godsknow 3xxxx no and some silly sms from mobile 2000 ...
after i lodged complainm , maxis rebated me back all the monies. apparently a very big problem with our local telcos now. any of you got charged for soemting u NEVEr subscribed?
i got redfaced with maxis kuching staff 1 month ago when she told me the charges are sent 'randomly' by these unscrupulous external content provider to maxis subscribers, and they could do nothng about it except block the sms gateway.
it has been going on for 3 months now, I got spammed by this External content provider and i need to cal maxis every month after i checked my bills to see thhe erroneous charges.
I suggest maxis to introduce 'opt-out' option for ALL external content provider.

I read from the papers last week that MCMC has asked tel users to lodge complaints to them if they got charged for unsolited sms/ services from external content providers.
I find it ridiculous for maxis to even bill us for something we never subscribe,just because the external service provider told them so. and it has become OUR responsibility to call the ECP to stop the service. this is daylight robbery and FRAUD.
i urge all of you who has been charged for unsolicited message to call 123 to demand rebates, if they fail to do that, write in to maxis customer care and forward your bills to MCMC too.
this conspiracy has to stop. MAxis gained from this unsolicited indirectly too... by profit sharing with the External Content provider.
