QUOTE(FlamingFox @ May 27 2007, 09:09 AM) The Campus zone thing ah, if you sign up for it, but your friend didn't ... will you still just have to pay RM0.01 for the sms? Campuszone rates are reflected on the caller not the receipents. So if you're making calls or sending SMSes within the zone, you will be charged according to the Campuszone rate. Doesn't matter if your friend is in or out of the zone and regardless if your friend is registered with Campuszone. The caller is bearing all the calling and SMS-ing cost.Does it apply to Digi/Celcom too? And it says the area is Sunway College, Taylors, etc. Does that mean if you call ur friends from these other places (when you're in Sunway College), the rates will be cheaper? 15 sen/min to million of friends when you're in the zone????? Means I can call ANY HOTLINK USERS at 15 sen/min even if they're not in the zone? Confusing ler ... Hotlink website so little info ... DiGi has roughly a similar plan called Community Zone. Check DiGi website for area coverage. Not sure with Celcom. This post has been edited by David83: May 27 2007, 09:22 AM |

I don't think there's a roaming rate for SMS.

Maxis links up with content providers to reduce spam
KUALA LUMPUR: Telecommunications giant Maxis has linked up with 18 external content providers (ECP) under its Elite Partners Programme to raise the standards of the industry and to reduce SMS spam and hoaxes. However, upon further inspection of the list of 18 ECPs that was revealed on Tuesday, it was found that three of the ECPs were ECPs that had repeatedly contravened guidelines set by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Such ECPs had their short codes (3xxxx) suspended by the MCMC for continuing to send SMSes to the public (while charging for them) even though a customer had asked for the SMS service to stop. When asked why such ECPs were allowed to partner with the telco, Maxis products and new business head Dr Nikolai Dobberstein pointed out that such ECPs were sometimes suspended because they made technical mistakes and not because they had deliberately set out to cheat customers. However, Dr Dobberstein agreed that there were the black sheep out there and that MCMC and the telcos needed to weed those out. "We will definitely not tolerate violations by ECPs in this new group. If they are found to be in violation of the rules, they will be suspended," he said. Asked when Maxis would implement itemised billing for pre-paid users because users currently have no way of telling if they had been charged for unsolicited SMSes, Maxis head of content development, T. Kugan said it would be introduced by the fourth quarter. ECPs are companies that provide content for mobile phone users through avenues such as SMS, MMS, 3G and Wap. QUOTE(MR.Shiney @ Jun 8 2007, 07:05 PM) both They used to have it but somehow abolished it later.22121 for prepaid, 22126 for postpaid. yes it does. i topup all the time using my mom's postpaid. type "TOPUP 01X-XXXXXX YY" to 22126, then enter the PIN codes. and ur done. im very dissapointed in maxis since the prepaid version didnt request for pin codes as they used to. we can steal credit very easy. |

Any hidden terms?
I just switched over. Flat call rates; no region and on/off-peak based. This post has been edited by David83: Jun 20 2007, 08:05 PM |

So, I guess there's no plan classification from now on. All will be the same under Hotlink Plan with new rates.

Hotlink introduced their Easy and Total plans for less than a year. Well, maybe they realize the mistakes and faster react to market demands.

QUOTE(accelerator7 @ Jun 21 2007, 09:03 PM) Weeeeeee~! I can call 1312 without any probs di! I rather use 1312 since it's FOC. For SMS method, you'll be charged 15 cents/SMS for every SMS sent.Dunno if it's the Hotlink Plan or izzit the technical staffs did somethin for several times...but the sms method still not working for me though |

The chart is indeed very confusing. QUOTE Upon topping up, you have 7 to 60 days active period - depending on your top up amount. During this period you can make and receive calls if you have sufficient credit in your Hotlink Prepaid account. Depending on your top up amount, your Hotlink account expires within 7 to 60 days from your first call or last top up. Would it be like an extension from the defined active period? For New Hotlink Plan top ups RM10 and below, you will enjoy number of days equivalent to the top up amount. E.g. RM10 = 10 days Let say, if I reload RM10, I'll get 7 (defined active period) + 10 (extra number of days equivalent to the top up amount) = 17 days of active period before going into deactive period where you still can keep your balance. Correct me if I'm wrong. |
