1. Budget: Below RM5.5K (but if need to add some money for huge performance increment/fulfill more requirements, then let me know too!)

2. Usage:
-Medium settings on AAA games
-High settings on less-demanding games like Overwatch, DoTA
-Video editing such as Premiere, with little bit of After Effects (It does not need to have super high RGB accuracy)
-Programming/coding

3. Requirements:
-Light weight, hope to be no more than 2kg (Not sure with this budget or with my usage, I could demand for this or not)
-Decent battery life
-At least have a 128GB SSD for fast boot
-Comes with Windows 10

Thank you.

Min how many hours of battery life?

Also if you want thin and light, you might want to increase budget, otherwise settle with <2.5kg

I hope I could get something to last between 5-6 hours doing medium load but not sure if this is realistic for this price range.

For thin/light, how much do I need to increase to get to that tier?

It depends on whether you want which GPU...if you're fine with 1650 then Raven SE with 62Wh battery, or 1060 laptops like Commandos Katana 5 and Illegear Onyx Lite 62Wh. If you prefer higher end GPU like 2060, need around 6k or more budget

I'm actually going to bring this overseas to use for a long period of time, will these local brands be a problem in terms of service if I have issues when I'm overseas?

Hello, would appreciate some recommendations.

1. Budget: Below RM6K (but if need to add some money for huge performance increment/fulfill more requirements, then let me know too!)

2. Usage:
-Medium/decent settings on AAA games
-Video editing such as Adobe Premiere, with little bit of After Effects (Would appreciate good sRGB but not extremely important)
-Programming/coding (Android Studio)

3. Requirements:
-Weight AT LEAST less than 2.4kg (like similar to Lenovo Ideapad Y700, but lighter than that please)
-Decent battery life (I expect to plug in at all times anyway, but looking for something that can last maybe from 9am - 5pm doing light/medium work e.g. programming or 1-2 hours of watching videos)
-At least have a 128GB SSD for fast boot (let me know for 256GB SSD upgrade options too)
-I don't need upgradable RAM, but please let me know options for 8GB and 16GB
-Comes with Windows 10

Thank you.

Are you able to wait for 1-2 months? Able to sacrifice battery life?
*
Please provide options for both can wait and current available ones. If the options are worth the wait, I don't mind.

Battery life I already expect to plug in charger all the time anyway, but do you mind elaborate what do you mean by 'sacrifice', like maybe 5 hours running on battery even when doing light work?

The issue is, many old models aren't available now, while new models haven't arrive yet. You can go for older models like:
-Level51 Vapor 15 Pro 1660Ti (not sure still got stock or not, but probably your best choice with your requirements and budget)
-Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52
-Lenovo Legion Y540/Y7000SE (if customize: apply code LENXCIMB, need to wait longer)
Refer to here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4771329

Many gaming laptops have below average battery life (4-5 hrs, 3-4 hrs or worse), not sure whether you're fine with that or not

I am looking at Lenovo Legion Y540. Do you think it's worth to look at Y740 too? May I know the differences?

Also, are the newer laptops worth the wait? May I know approximately when will they arrive?

Y740 is a good alternative. Main differences: Aluminium build, thinner, GSYNC with MUX (RTX models only), RGB, TB3, worse keyboard

I would say it's worth, however I have no idea when will they arrive (even preorders are ETA only)

Thanks for your help, I'll look into it.

One more thing, if I get the Y540: (considering price to performance ratio)

1) Should I get the i5 or i7?
2) Should I get a 60Hz or 144Hz display?
3) Should I get the GTX1650 or GTX1660Ti?

Edit: additional question

1. Depends on your usage and the games you play
2. 144Hz is worth it if you often play games, otherwise 60Hz is OK (get the 300 nits 72% NTSC)
3. 1660Ti is significantly faster, and has a better price per performance

Alright, thanks for your help.
