Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable RAM? Any preference on battery life?

What do you mean by 'below thin and light'?
*
sorry it should be thin and light only. sweat.gif sweat.gif
no preference on battery life. ram if non-upgrade 8gb should be enough i think.
for sRGB i need to look for it with my eyes first.
i just need some recommendation to start with.

I don't think Tech Armory has display unit for the AMOLED Aero (need to ask @storm88), for Nova 15 they have display unit but it has 144Hz IPS

Thinkpad models might be hard to be found in stores since they are mostly customized

For X1E / P1, the thermal capacity is limited by the cooling design itself. Even with LM, undervolt and lifting up bottom, I don't think the cooling will become 'good'

ok thanks. So lenovo actually selling crippled product that is unable to reach the full potential? ohmy.gif

Nah; even apple did that, LOL.

So far only those that’s experienced with desktop PC making, like Gigabyte/MSI can get thermal done right in slim system.

TBH this is expected considering its size and cooling design, similar to XPS 15 but better in other aspects

Hi, looking to get a new Windows laptop.

1. Budget: < RM3k (inclusive of Microsoft Office apps if possible e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

2. Usage: Mostly Excel & Powerpoint, internet browsing, watch videos and some light gaming i.e. mostly indie games on Steam (not planning to play Skyrim etc. on it)

3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc):
- Display: 13 - 15 inch is ok; don't need super HD display as will not be doing graphic design/photo editing work
- Audio: not important as will be using headphones/external speakers most of the time
- Battery life: > 6 hours general use if possible, but not so crucial as will be plugged in most of the time
- Weight: Not fussy on weight. Can be heavier if necessary.
- Hard drive: Preferably SSD (at least 256 GB)

Not looking to upgrade specs in future. Just need something that will run smoothly for Microsoft apps, browsing and light gaming. Thanks.

Need decent GPU? Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable RAM?

TBH there are many options available since you don't have much requirements

You can get non thin and light under 2.5kg

While gaming? Around or less than 1 hr. Advise not gaming with battery power unless you want battery die faster

May I know what's the max thickness (in cm) you prefer? Because some models might be 'thin and light' from your perspective but not from my perspective

Always plugged in

I would suggest not getting thin and light due to more limited cooling room, you can still get a fairly portable model which isn't thin and light

best with battery disconnected but most laptops nowadays have internal battery

Minimum screen size is 13 inch. Bc i have a monitor that i could connect with.

I have no issue with low sRGB display as it wont effect my work. I'm more into survey and design work for earthwork contractor.

For specs, I don't really know what to ask for. but based on my reading, to do autocad drawings, I need more ram and good cpu. Correct me if i'm wrong. I don't do any 3d autocad.
