hi currently im looking into this two lens sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX DG Macro and Tamron SP AF28-75/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF)
anyone used this two lens before...pretty good review on the net.......
any idea how much does this 2 lens cost currently?

wider lens? my kit lens lo..hehe  i dont need a fast lens in wideopen and 50mm seem like kinda short. might be getting 50mm f1.8 next time. sound like lots of ppl kena 28-75 tamron poison... any idea how much does it cost? btw im a 400d user

28-75mm F2.8 is 1 of the sharpest third party lens out there... not sure about the 17-50..heard this lens kinda good aswell..

The 17-50 is technically a 28-75mm (actual = 27-80mm) on canon APS-C, which is a very popular range on 35mm. But what you said is true, 2.8 is not really neccessary at the wide end, but you'd be able to shoot indoor wide open, and you get wider dof control...then again, dof is bleh at 17mm. But if you are cool with your kit lens, and plan to get a 50mm 1.8, the 28-75 is probably a more rational buy. You'd probably end up using it as a portrait lens. (don't see myself using it, since i like bokeh, tele is the way to go if you have the working distance  ) btw, I'd take tamron plastic over sigma plastic. Sigma's plastic lens has been very fragile, and the paint peels more often than the metal ones. Just try to avoid china made tamron and strive for japan made ones.
