One last point. Most of the time you won't get a civil summons until 6 months to 2 years later. In the mean time, keep the documents I mentioned earlier safely filed away.

It'll be ok as that's what insurance is for. Your onus is to inform your insurance when an incident happens, which I hope you have done.

Instead of waiting to see where the chips fall and wondering, if I were TS, I would try to get the doctors clean bill of health as soon as possible and bring this to a close.

Oh boy ! With all the advices above, if I were in your shoes I would be praying frantically that nothing happens to that child within the next few days and the doctors scan all turned out O.K.

That really good news but I can only sleep in peace if I secure a copy of the doctor's clean bill of health.

I don't think the doctor's office will provide TS with that letter as he is not the legal guardian. Unless of course he has police report or something. Doctor & patience confidentiality...

Further info.

A police report can be made, just for record purposes. This can be used when there are any further civil\legal developments.

In case some ppl wonder if make report = confirm open case \ investigation \ summons.

And invest in a good dashcam, treat it like insurance. Better to have it, but dont need, rather need it, but dont have.

Definately the doctors will never give TS directly their patients records. I was referring that TS gets the medical report from the victim's family.

I even couldn't get medical reports of my mother-in-law when she was hospitalized and even after her departure. Doctors just don't want to be sued for negligence. LOL

There's a world of difference between a foot injury and a head injury, mate.

Anything that happen eg if your child fell down and fractured his/her arm it will be reported as โ€œalledgedโ€ that he/she had fallen down. That is SOP.
