I don't see the point in Carlos Santana churning out collaboration albums one after another other than him milking as much as he could from his renewed popularity since "Smooth". Every release follows seem to be living in its shadow. That said, he has a great band backing him and I rather listen to the collaboration rather than the artist's own songs (Smooth > Rob Thomas' solo stuff & most Matchbox 20 hits, Game of Love > anything Michelle Branch has done etc etc... )

I agree that his playing is pretty stagnant these days but for inspiring stuff, check out his 70s stuff like Europa, Samba Pa Ti & Black Magic Woman. His control of feedback is impeccable.

Haven't got any problem with them, throughout my visits they have been pretty friendly and quite helpful. Though, I find the peeps at M******* pretty LCLY though.

Yeah... you get a more Jimmy/Jimi/Jimmie(Vaughan) vibe.

It was suggested by an old forumer, ssslayerrr and apparently he uses it on his J-customs (Those are his guitars right? xD). Kinda skeptical at first but decided to give it a try. Works pretty well, doesn't really prevent rust but slows down the process. Don't think it's harmful to the wood, but to be sure, I use it only for strings and metal parts.

Cloth hah, to be safe. xD The thing is, my palms are always sweaty and usually strings rust in no time. At one point, I tried Elixirs but they were too expensive and have this plastic-y tone. Currently using DR strings and they last pretty long with WD-40.

Since occasionally I apply WD-40 on my whammy bar before fitting it into the hole....

DR strings are around RM20 lar hah... 10-52 ya... I'm using the Pure Blues, which has a pretty raw vintage sound. The low strings are great for SRV riffs

Used to use D'Addarios for a long time before Elixirs hah. They last longer than Ernie Ball, my experience with Ernie Ball then was that they would turn black in hours and start to rust in a few days time.

Tone-wise I can't comment lar as when I switch to DR I was already using my Fender hah. What I love about the DRs is that even when they're beginning to rust, they would still sound pretty decent. With D'Addario and Ernie Ball, the tone pretty much die as soon as the strings turn black.

The colour one ar? Twice as much as the regular strings I think. The colour/coated ones are fugly and not worth it imho lol.

Anyway give the pure blues a try lar, it might sound great on your Les Paul.
