haha i have to confess, having no actual experience with the guitars, i only fall for the aesthetic part of it. tat's why, i find the forum here very helpful, a kind of reality check

i have the perception - the sg's and lp's are very different and distinct animals. i am tempted to get both.

based on yr useful inputs, a regular g400 would thus be a better choice - two regular pickups instead of three, future upgrade route via emg's replacement, moreover i can get a lp with cherry sunburst instead of two black fingerprints-magnet finishes lol.
