fenders and mesa have different characteristics. . . it's just finding what you like. . . i've tried 1 mesa before. . . when i was just starting out. . . and lacked any technical skills and understanding to know the tonal characteristics of amps. . . it was a combo amp. . . it sounded amazing through the ES-335. . . lol

from the reviews i've seen. . . magazines and stuff give the express good ratings but owners in forums and such tend to give a much less generous review. . .

well if you're serious and passionate about your guitar then i guess investments are just unavoidable? it's like how car enthusiasts spend on cars. . . some find it silly but to a hardcore car lover. . . they find it a worthwhile investment. . .

for me i use 5 springs on all my guitars. . .

multiple factors tho. . . at first it was for the tuning stability but then i like the extra tension and increased response. . .

tone wise there are slight changes mayb due to the tension or something? and as zero pointed out more transfer?

i dono. . . i just like it. . . and the extra springs give me more confidence in abusing the whammy cause i can feel the weight of it. . .
