Developed by the creators of Divinity: Original Sin 2, Baldur's Gate III is the official next adventure in the venerable Baldur's Gate series. The teaser trailer shows a return of a malevolent presence to Baldur's Gate, intent on devouring it from the inside out, corrupting everything that remains in the Forgotten Realms. The fate of the Forgotten Realms lies in your hands.
I seriously can't even imagine who can pick up BG2 to follow up with. Nostalgia is a very powerful yet scary factor especially when dealing with an old darling.
Anyway, loving the fact that I will see BG again in this lifetime and 100% definitely pre-ordering this when available too, hahaha.
Never play this series before. Why it's the best western rpg?
Baldur's Gate 1 was quite revolutionary during its time. Super huge game with 5 CDs, extensive dialogues, probably the first 2.5 ed D&D PC game, the actual looks of the armors and weapons are shown on your character. It's only 2 years after the first Diablo and 2 years before Diablo 2.

I see.. have to watch this space then. I only played Diablo 2 and 3. D3 is well, overhype?

Yeah D3 is over-hyped because it's Diablo, a super huge franchise and therefore a lot of expectations. Definitely came up short.
The guys that did BG1 and 2 also made Neverwinter Nights, supposedly a spiritual successor for the BG saga but it's a far cry. It's not bad but just not as good.
BG3 will be from a totally different group so I dunno what to expect

I can't live with forever grinding.. let's wait for BG3 gameplay
It really gives the Original Sin vibe but guess that it is to be expected with Larian's style. I will still look forward to this though, Original Sin turned out extremely well and there's still a long way to go with BG3.
TBH I hesitated at first but quickly warmth into the world of BG3
IT combines the best of both worlds to me, the fantastical environments possibilities and fun combat of Divinity and grim but realistic worlds and stories of BG.
The opening scene already feels like an epic I haven't seen in games in years..
Yes. I even enjoy watching streamer gone nuts with the role playing..
How it got so popular (top 2 Steam concurrent players) I have no idea, but it is a deserving one.
All time peak is 800k players playing this game during early access.. compared to now around 650k.. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 also is a very popular game back in the day, add up wioth Larian's Studio good run of making good rpg as well for the Original Sins series.
Hmm... I tried the game. I think it is overall a very solid game but can't really indulge in it. Maybe because of the RNG (I hate RNG) or I am just playing it wrong. lol.

It's dungeons and dragons style, so it will always be played with dice. It makes it more interesting that way actually.

Never played DnD. Since I am just waiting for other games right now, I will try more and see. If I eventually like it, I will buy it. Someone said it gets a lot better after you got to level 5. So, hope it does get better for me. haha.

DnD like offline board game one haha. You can increase dice roll amount by stat like dex or charisma base on what task you do la. I mean you're not suppose to always successfully get it, but if you prefer that maybe can probably cheat? Or just save scumming lol. Big important decisions usually you need 18-20 for dice also, if you trying to persuade or convince someone.

I am playing warlock with 16 charismas. One time got 3 consecutive fails... Then, another time failed a roll for 5, wasn't wanting to save scum but this instantly made me angry and reload the save... lmao... I will try to refrain myself from doing that again...
Speaking of warlock, my first blast was 1 damage... that damage range doesn't make sense... lol

Yep, dice rolls are the scariest encounters in this game. Going into towns gonna be a wild ride O_o See 1 people, quick save. Another people, quick save. Another guy, more save!
As well as plenty of performance improvements and UI tweaks, we've added a new epilogue scene for Karlach, and are working on additional endgame scenes featuring other characters. Additional Karlach moments have also been added in Acts 1 and 2, allowing her to better reflect on her infernal engine and the options available to her.

Epic fails are part of the game experience! You are missing out if you give plot armor to your characters.

Your party doesn't have plot armor because of RNG, so every battle has risks, every decision made might not go their way. Don't re-roll to give your characters plot armor because you will get a boring playthrough. Don't min-max your characters also because BG3 is not a MMORPG, don't play it like an MMORPG. Part of the fun is when your party suffers setbacks and losses. Don't reroll.
This is one of a few ganes that I bought at full price. Sinked about 150 hours into it at currently in Act 3 on my first playthrough. Thoroughly enjoyed the game.
