sometimes you gotta read/check the published specs for your tyres. comfort based tyres may have slightly thicker usable thread depth than lower profile tyres. it may not be much, like 9mm depth for 60series and 8mm for 45series. that 1mm of rubber may mean 10k km life on the road, depending on driving style/road surface etc.
