Hey all,

I have got a Man Utd jersey but unfortunately the guy put on the wrong number! Now how do i get take it off without damaging the shirt. The number is not the "cloth" type, but the sticker type. For those who has Man Utd jersey, the material is like the AIG sponsor logo.

PLease help =(

Thanks all.

I believe this is the NN used for champions league. What jersey was involved? Man Utd home or away? Why do you mean wrong number?

If the thin plastic type (not the felt time or 'lextra' used for EPL names and numbers) then it is very hard to take off. Felt or lextra, yes you can but there's a big chance you will ruin the jersey's material because the lextra uses a 'sand typed' particle glue which will melt when heated. It grips better. But the thin plastic number.... If you want to try to peel it off.. it might ruined the jersey as well... Anyway where did u do the numbering and what jersey, name and number was involved?

I did once try to peel off the lextra letter because I ironed it wrongly. Manage to take it off but ruined the surface of the jersey. Thank god I manage to hide it by placing a correct letter on to it.

well my friend zc_squash,

sad to say that once applied, cannot take out esp for the sticker type material NN. confirmed gone. the only thing that they will and can do, is NOT charge you for the NN that they have placed wrongly. you may argue for a replacement jersey, of which then they will charge you for the correct NN applied. but if there IS a replacement lah that is...

my experience is that i've argued for a replacement jersey before, lucky they still have stock. once also experienced no more jerseys left, so have to take the 'wrong' jersey but they didn't charge the NN.

if Lextra material, ask them to peel off and re-do, they can do that, but may take some time as the glue is very strong. but there will be a mark, and if you can hide it ala schmeichel7 then it's ok. but if NOT, there will be a dark mark where the old wrong NN used to be.

hope the above helps!

He didn't charge me for the wrong numbering but didn't replace a new one for me neither. Alrite, the thing is, it really aint the number. It's the name. Sorry guys. But they are both the same. I could actually hide the glue mark when i apply on a new name later but first how could i get it off? Use iron ah?

I wonder how you still proceed to payment after his mistake. Ask him replace a new one. If not, report to POLICE. tongue.gif

Explain further la bro, which jersey and name number was involved. So that I can imagine your problem and give you the best solution. My only guess now is that it is the champions league name and numbering because that's the only one which uses thin plastic layer like AIG sponsor. EPL uses lextra made by Chris Kay which is more velvet type and bolder (and nicer too).

If can, try to peel it off using your nails. It is plastic, you can melt it too.. but that's crazy way to do.. The best is try to peel it off using your nails. But please describe me which jersey is the victim..

It's the home jersey. Anyway i already done the crazy way you said. I melt it with the iron and slowly peel it off. It's the EPL lettering, not the gold one used for Champs League.

Anyway, i wasn't charged for the stupid mistake. I didn't deal with the guy either becoz my friend sent it for me. He somehow get to find a shop that has sticker type letters. I had the away jersey with the "cloth" type numbering. Did it in Al-Ikhsan and they only have got that type. Where to get the EPL (black and white) sticker type lettering ah? Since my number is in already in sticker type.

where did your friend get that? as far as I know, KL shops only sell the 'cloth' aka Lextra types for the EPL. i saw the sticker type for EPL before but that's in UK man, not here nor Singapore nor HK, you get my drift.

maybe it's not 'genuine' ala the pirates at TAR, etc. they use sticker type as opposed to 'cloth'. maybe you can get some of the pirates to sell you some spare lah, or ask your friend to cari balik the store and get a replacement. good luck!
