Later it slow down your experience ..

Especially for iPad mini 4 because it's the slowest of all and it does not need ipadOS feature. also and somewhat applies to iPad 2017 because it got slower processor

TS should amend title to "don't update to iPadOS... if you're using older apple devices"..

on a side note, even latest devices will not have slow issues, but im quite sure the new OS consume more battery... sad.gif

Seriously I don’t really mind to upgrade my iPad Pro 11 to iPadOS because it packed useful features into the device and external HDD/USB support is worth enough the upgrade.

That’s true. But having iPad with lower iOS might be more usable in terms of speed.

the latest iPad Pros will not be affected by the speed running the iPadOS, it packs overkill specs more than sufficient to run those new features on the iPadOS, on the other hand, battery consumption should be something to be concern about..sweat.gif

Yeap I think for air2 and 2017 ipad should see situation when the official update releases...I would rather have a usable iPad running on a slightly older OS, than a laggy iPad running on a new OS..

pretty sure it's the norm nowadays for companies (especially for apple) to handicap older devices in order to push newer hardware.

alternatively, users could update to new versions/OS-es and try out the performance. if it's bad, they could easily rollback the software.

Not every updates allow rollback to previous version, it also depends on ipsw if they have the previous versions signed, from my past experience, I couldn’t downgrade OS coz they were unavailable very quickly after the new updates release...bad day bad move...and gotta stuck with it, and it certainly ruin up the whole user experience...sad.gif

I think it's bad idea to update iPad mini 4. Small screen. Slow device. Bad idea.

Yes ipad mini4 very compact & light compare with my MacbookPro13 & Dell XPS15. Easy to carry but function like laptop with bluetooth compact keyboard & mouse, battery could run 6-10 hours.

Yeah but if small screen means those feature like 2nd screen MacBook and desktop feature are harder to use.

I am just saying in context of desktop class feature coming to iPad.
