QUOTE(Kiding @ Jun 4 2019, 11:44 PM) if you have ethernet cable for each floor, then I highly recommended mesh wifi, I'm using TP-Link Deco M4 with ethernet backhaul, 1 x M4 for each floor, my iphone speedtest at the very far corner of the house with a wall in between still run the max Unfi 100Mbps speed. Yes, M4 has actually higher speed on 5Ghz than M5/MW6, due to the QCA9886 chipset, it has almost same hardware with TP-Link business class EAP-225v3, same cpu/ram/Wi-Fi chipset Unifi 800mbps/iPhone XS Max M4 520/206 M5 480/206 MW6 415/189 R7800 560/209 AC86U 495/207 GT-AC5300 490/207 C1200 503/206 EA7500v2 510/207 DIR850L 430/204 All tests done by standing in front of the router with 2 meters distance, Iām lucky enough non of my neighbors has 5Ghz Wi-Fi, the air is clear for me. QUOTE(NoNaM3z @ Jun 4 2019, 04:27 PM) 1st time seeing this model cause it wasn't promoted as heavily as m9+. really interested in this now. i'll let u know if i will be buy 2 sets den share 1 unit with u. I just ordered a P7, a set which comes with 2 units. Plan to place one in the living room and another in the family hall upstairs. I'm not sure if I may require a 3rd unit to be placed at the rear of my house to cover the kitchen and room behind. Once I install it I'll determine if 2 units are sufficient to get good signal for full home coverage. If not, give me a heads up and we can split the cost for 1 set. Only issue is I'm trying to find a wall mount for the P7, as this is a relatively new model, there aren't any 3rd party accessories for it yet for cable management.

QUOTE(sendoh_7 @ Jun 19 2019, 05:23 PM) bro the router can push 5ghz to the 2nd floor? most likely not. no router can push 5ghz to travel far with walls, concrete or any other obstacles. its all physics This post has been edited by firdausbhari: Jun 19 2019, 05:32 PM

QUOTE(sitescope @ Jun 21 2019, 02:45 PM) if direct facing nothing in between, will the drop 50% similar like using repeater ? wireless is half duplex be it repeater or mesh. But most meshes use a second radio on a different band for backhaul. So user traffic is on 2.4 Ghz and backhaul is on 5GHz vice versa mesh is the future wireless. seamless. Very few home owners are willing to pull Ethernet cables upstairs. Ugly casing or tedious wall hacking. This is why Mesh Wifi is beneficial.
I'm very lucky my home already has Ethernet cables built all over š
