It's through internet guys.
It utilizes Nintendo Wifi Connection for online battles, puzzle trading(user created), and to download puzzle packs  |

hehe, i got the japanese version
u can download content from through wifi, u can also make ur own picross puzzle and post it on da side so your friend can download urs and play  wifi battle also got. given 2 piece of 10x10 puzzle and see who solve the fastest. mistaken will taken penalty of 5 second |

I tried downloading classic puzzles with my US version of Picross DS, only to have a message "New downloadable puzzles are coming soon"
