alright, more painting questions

guys to do panel lining on my gundam, what paints should i use? i used the gundam markers but even the thinest marker is not thin enough sometimes.

i've bought some mr.color 157 (super black) (gloss) but i'm not really getting it. i mix it with thinner to make it watery then i use my brush and dab it onto my gundam to let the paint just flow into the panels... but the problem is wiping off the excess, it just ends up smudging. my brush also doesn't seem suited for this job... although i can say its the smallest, thinnest one i can find. (not from hobby shop)

from what i've read, the color i'm using is a laquer, and i've heard about acrylics... are they better? also i tried mixing water with the mr.color ... well it was a bad idea, luckily i just used a small amount of paint.

so, what i hope u guys can help me with, is tell me the exact stuff that i need to do this panel lining (i don't wanna use gundam markers):

brush - buy where - size - type?
paint - brand - color - type (laquer/acrilic)
thinner (currently using a small bottle mr thinner 50)

and panelling tips please

edit:

i've been checking out, and it seems people use top coat prior to panel lining, is this really necessary?? say that it is, what type of top coat should i get if i wanna use a) Lacquer paint B) Enamel paint

in times square got which shop sell enamel paint?

for panel line inking u have to use enamel paint to do it ...... lacquer and acrylic paint is not suitable for panel line inking cause most ppl will be using those as base paint and dun forget about the L.A.E. theory ( lacquer -> acrylic -> enamel )

enamel that i know can be get from malaysia is either tamiya brand or humbrol brand.... u may find tamiya enamel at any tamiya store but be warn it's bit expensive ..... for humbrol enamel u can get it at hobby hq or miniature hobby price r alright ....

yess!! thank you very much thumbup.gif icon_idea.gif , erm care to explain what is the L.A.E theory? btw... around how much is 'expensive' haha, and where is Hobby HQ located?

SD painted with pure gundam markers

SWATwolf: when you use your markers.. say using a blue color marker to color on a black color part, will the blue color show or would it blend into the color?

in your opinion is it worth forking out the money for gundam markers?

I was looking at the pictures of gundams in the other thread and I was wondering what markers you guys use for panel lining? The lines on those pictures are so dark. Whereas when I tried using a gundam marker on my gundam, it was not very dark

you have to keep drawing over them after it dries.

but speaking on marker pens, to those who've been to Venus Art at Petaling Street, do they sell Pigment Pens? they're like Gundam Markers but have true 0.1 tips... or any place that sells super thin markers.
