get a few different types, for different stages of the sanding (from rough to smooth), and also for different places (flats surfaces, and tight corners)
*
i see. if flat surface use which one le? corners should be ok since most of the part will be covered i guess.

sanding is done 1st then only comes painting and airbrushing..
sanding is to sand away the little bits of extra parts... to make it even... when sanding is done, scratches will arise therefore u nid to prime then start painting. =)

sanding is to even out a surface.
from rough to smooth, ur choice of smoothness is depend on the grade of sandpaper used.
if u wan very rough surface, anything below 300-400, rough surface (below 600), smooth surface but not shinny (1000-1500).

if u wanna go for shine and gloss surface, u'll need extra fine sandpaper (12,000 and above), or nail polishing stick
extra gloss will need polishing compound and waxing already lor biggrin.gif

unless u r doing automobiles kit and the canopy for airplanes.. no need to sand after painting d mah blush.gif
unless ur paint job screw up with small crack, pimples or orange peel (all those un-smooth painting surface) smile.gif

U want shining effect u dun go and get sand paper! They wont make it shine!!!!
Go tried those sheep fur polisher! Those thing can help u make ur stuff shine and smooth!

Talking about compressor! Yah Sparmax mini compressor will really heat up after 15-20minit used! It does not include water trap and airtank for that price! If u willing to invest u can get more expensive one! Around 900-1k one which has everything build in! No overheat + accessories included!

yes they can be.. there are few methods..
-use super glue to stick them together then sand away the extra glue tat came out...
-Use putty to cover the seam lines...

u dunwan paint is up 2 u.. if sand alr, the scratches not visible then ok la.. lol...
after painting ppl dun sand unless the paint u dun like or screw up.. so ppl sand it to get rid of the paint then prime again then paint again..

sanding can be done actually, if you're after a flat finish, but make sure to do it right.

Check this out: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=13689143

That zaku's finishing is done by just sanding, and is pretty well done too. Of course this means that the sanding work will need to be done slowly and progressively, so you wont leave any deep scratch marks that's difficult to remove with the finer sandpaper later.

Yes and no. You usually don't sand after painting, but it also depends on what sort of effects that you want. Somebody had posted before a model with pretty nice weathering effects that's done via sanding the edges, but this' something that u'll want to do carefully though, so u only strip the top layer of paint to reveal the layer under, and not strip everything till the plastic

suggested is to hand paint using acrylics, if you don't have an airbrush. Spray can velocity and spray volume is rather high, and you cannot adjust it, making it difficult to control for such precision work. Furthermore, it gets to be rather wasteful as well if u're working on small areas.
