may i know how to get the best surface with spray painting? using aerosol.....

erm... i've been trying with my toys with usually 3 layers but easily get a rough surface... maybe the paint corrode the plastic surface.... because i used very fine sand paper to sand it first...

any solution for this?

i usually dry the spray painted material under fan... is it essential?

tq

hmm.. do u mean spray cans? is even aerosol suitable for plastic? shocking.gif
ok, let me do advertisement again.... i've recommended a lot of ppl here to use Nippon pylox spray can which is an industrial spray can but also suitable for plastic.. it is based on LACQUER which ppl use this type of paint to AB their kits... check previous pages, someone posted bout it b4. smile.gif

Glitz said can use adapter for direct source..just look at the voltage then find the adapter at shops.
the question is just how good it is for normal OOB + simple detailing job...if good review is given i might as well buy this smile.gif

hmmm ... this is my review for it ( was my 1st ab set blush.gif )

pro:
- very very easy to use there r no setting for this guy ... just turn the power on thats it
- it is enuf for a normal oob
- air brush hand set is very durable and tough .... also it have a very big paint cup no need to always refill
- not very noisy
- very light

con:
- u cant adjust the air pressure .... so it is hard to do shading or other detailing with this guy
- no moisture trap .... so cant keep it on for a long run ...... ( but can delay the moisture build up by changing it with a longer tube )

if ur new to air brushing this guy is good and stable ..... but there is a limit that this guy can do so dun expect alot .... rm 550 is the normal price any cheaper its a good deal

last note ..... although that this basic ab set comes with a single action hand set u can still change it with others hand set like double action it fits well with others ...

i wear a useless mask  doh.gif
anyone using a mask which totally no smell?

now i still  rclxub.gif

Better if you invest a spray booth. Even if you wear mask, the spray mist is still in the air for sometime. So how good the mask, the smell is still there. And the smell is not danger. But the spray paint mist will get to your lung. Is it poison.

Maybe add another rm100-200 can get a sparmax comp and a double action AB. Alot better than the tamiya set.

U've gotta find those type of LED, the flat thin type one. Some MGs the head are rather big, so u can easily slip one behind.

U'd need a PCB, or those boards wit lotsa holes, where u then solder the components.

Here're the things u'll need to consider:
1. The power supply u're using. How much of voltage will u be applying?
2. The resistors values. Can get a set value or those adjustable ones

That 2, u can trial and error to get the 'brightness' that u wan. Cos if too bright can see the lights thru back of the head (something u wouldn't wan) and worse might spoil the LED.

U might wanna consider getting a switch as well smile.gif

thanks myky44

i'm thinking about using lithium batteries, with let say, yellow or green LED.. would the voltage be enough?
is the PCB really needed? can it just be wires, battery, resistor + LED?

>>lonetitans: Few methods here.
1. U use PCB, then u can have LEDs at several other places. Just tht u'll have to extend the wires externally.

2. If use Li batts like LR44, maybe u can somehow stuff the whole circuit inside your kit. Problem is though, how u wanna switch on and off?

ic ic... in method 2 - add a switch somewhere? hahaha... i think for now i'd just wanna put led onto the eye... so its just led, batteries, switch, wires and resistor? can it be done ?

>>lonetitans: hmm.gif yeah i guess so. If gunpla like MK-II got big body, maybe can somehow fit inside. Smaller ones like WZC, F91 will be very difficult.

I've got a senior who did the PCB method. Very cool. He use USB power supply.

Aiyo i worry la if we're taking up too much spaces here laugh.gif PM me if u wan anymore details. I'll help wit wat i can smile.gif
