for my latest project yes....
after sanding and modding la the pre-assemble again then i prime the whole kit.. really save a lot of primer but some parts the paint didnt hold well sweat.gif
so if ppl got AB, primer wiv ab then ok lor... i use spray can ma, not cheap ler

some note here guys .... if u plan to do ur kit a fix pose then it is okie to prime the whole kit just like that .... but if u still wanna pose the kit or move around then it is advice to separate all the parts then prime it ..... reason here is some times the joints area there u'll miss out some spot ( example if u prime the whole arm bending then when it dry and u bend back u'll see that u miss some spot at the joints there )

after prime , of coz take out everything again lor sweat.gif

GUYS.... i have a very basic question here. about panel lining. i saw ppl create panel line. very accurate, does it require any special tools? or just simply draw one?

well for extra panel lining u need a basic tool like design knife or you can buy tools specialy for panel lining like i just bought

all this total below rm60 but i not sure where to get at KL mine was imported from japan

not very expensive...
why ler no good n cheap brush
bought tamiya brush already RM35.. sweat.gif

i use a pin vise bought from hardware or electrical store and a needle stolen from my mom. cost me less than RM10.

But scribing do u guys use the templates (rulers, special designed rulers) ar? Or just scribe as u like only?

draw the lines with mechanical pencil with ruler(normal plastic ruler) then i use design knife to cut, flw the line then only scrub the lines slowly... smile.gif

Watching the video that chriswoo posted earlier again, I realized that he sanded the middle part of the cockpit to get rid of a line in the middle of the cockpit.

Does that mean that the polishing compound can be used without sanding the model?

Does that mean this can work:
layer 1: paint
layer 2: decal
layer 3: top coat
layer 4: polishing compound
and variant 2(assuming I decide not to paint the part but want it to be glossy)
layer 1: decal
layer 2: top coat
layer 3: polishing compound

if u polish 1st then top coat then u'll be wasting the polishing effort ...... same like cars ....
