yes, detergent... to clean the kit properly from dust then only prime the kit

u must wash of all the oil tat stick on the kit (where the oil came from of course ur hand!)!
So if u clean it perfectly then no primer also can!

hi there..

usually when painting without using airbrush.. which would be much easier..

paint before build or build then paint? and when applying gundam marker for panel lining is it?

so any help would be much appreciated..

like wat zero said! If u paint then assemble u will stand a chance to rub of ur paint during the building process and also those small nip parts are still unpaint! So Danny Choo tutorial is really for those tat has no time one!

u mean transparent part rite?
for me, i just use design knife and cut as clean as possible..
becoz it's not visible to see the nips if u cut it cleanly therefore no nid to sand

well u can use sanding method also i use grade2000 to sand it then use tamiya fine compound to polish it then it look way better like real glass instate of plastic

chriswoo, can show some resault about the tamiya fine compound? Start interest of that, because I less paint on my model and sometime want to sanding for that.

I was wondering if any of you know how to achieve the effect below? The model is actually done by 99FoxDemon(taken from the work in progress and mecha modelling gallery section)

I would like to know how to make the black parts(in this case, the shoulders and the head) shine like that?

normal shine would be just a layer of gloss topcoat but this case, it's different...
if u wan to achieve shine until got reflection, those are usually the same step as the car builders...
topcoat gloss, then u need to put compound, something like tat.. i'm not very clear bout the steps but i can tell u it requires lots of process in order to achieve the glossiness

Head part tat dude insert a LED inside so it shines! The shoulder u referring to wat? The spike, the armor color, or the inner frame?

sure u can look at this picture it makes ur kits polish likat 1 but u need to use sanding paper grade 2000 or above to achive this effect.

dunno i always use on the transparant stuff which turn it to like real glass look instate of plastic look rclxms.gif other than that i just use it to polish my kits for more glossy icon_rolleyes.gif

is it so ah......then i will go make an order on one and tried out loh! And by the way where can i find extra parts, i heard u are able to order a whole runner one? mind to share some info with me! I want to order the wing gundam runner that has the wing part onli!

this compound not only make the kit glossy but it have few feature it self also like wash all the dirt for the surface and those extra outside panel lining and ect

there some sample from this guy using tamiya find compound



u can see and learn from him at 5.25 to 5.35 min there how to use the find compound. icon_rolleyes.gif
