How come after topcoat still can chip off wan? This is weird la. I'm not sure la, haven't use topcoat before.

can but it will look weird... coz after u apply topcoat, there will be a layer which u kenot see wiv ur own eyes de..
hmm... tat's weird... 1st of all did u PRIME anot? tat did happen to me b4 and it's because i din prime(testing)

1st of all, not my house, just rent a room there... 2nd behind the house is a small forest + kubur.. lol... so go figure.

like i asked, did u prime ur kit anot? after topcoat, watever paint still can stick on it one

topcoat doesn't prevent ur paint from chipping la..
it just protects the paint, something like tat

nope, i havent top coat yet. this happened when i put the parts together, the paint got scratch.....means nippon pilox paint fall of from scratches.....and i tot nippon paints are weather proof @_@

wat i wanted to do is to add shading after spray then topcoat, but now hv to topcoat then shading then topcoat again.....

did u prime ur kit? it happen to me when i didn't prime my kit..
if u see my zaku n my HG wing, it's totally fine coz i prime them, paint din chip off...
nippon paints are weather proof but these r plyox wo.
if u wan to do shading, u nid to use other type of paints coz Pylox is lacquer type, u cant have the same paint or the paint will be smeared.. topcoat is last la, u dun hav to topcoat to do shading..

Added on March 19, 2008, 12:50 amtat is y lo... u didn't prime... pylox paint like tat one.. i tried on my HG wing, didnt prime... wa.. the paint chip off so easily but after i prime, really big difference, nvr chip at all d... i can even use my knife scratch here n there and no paint chip off..
this problem can be solve if u got surfacer but now u dun hav so u hav to be careful d...

i didn't noe cos first time.....so wat do u think i shud do now? if topcoat wun help to prevent the paint from chipped off, then i got no choice but to only depend on surfacer......can't find any here in kuching......

i alr mentioned to u guys, if u wan use pylox, must prime 1st.. i tested myself b4 tat's y i kno...
topcoat wun prevent it from chipping ler...
u really really nid surfacer... if u cant find any , try find industrial surfacer if there's one but i cant guarantee is it the same.. =/

Don't kuku me ar. I ask above steps are correct or not as that's what I've read so far.
And Topcoat means paint another layer right? How bout those with decals on it?

actually 1st step is called pre-assemble(testing snap fit, something like tat)
u dun nid to cement everything yet depends on the kit.. let's say a HG or NG kit, u nid to paint the inside 1st only the armor rite since got no body frame so if u cement d then susah..
step 4 wrong.. u do panel lining AFTER u paint/AB..
step 6 can skip actually if u wan to save topcoat, it's not compulsory to spray 2 times.. i only do tat on certain kits..

Actually pre-assemble I'm ok with it, only the process afterwards... zzz 1 wrong move, my rare kits gone.
Ok, means that

1. Pre-assemble(Sand, cement, etc.)
2. Prime / Surface
3. Paint / Airbrush
4. Lining
5. Decals

Above this one more accurate??

Btw, I know sticking decals on kits will result in... sticker seam lines(call this as what ler )
So topcoat 1 time after decals will hide those seam lines or there's special way?

the paint is not suitable for plastic, that y it didnt "makan" onto the surface, it just "stick" onto of the layer, so the whole piece of paint chip off.....
