It is a good car , but maybe ask urself if u really can get RM20K fcoz u cant get a bank loan for such cars anymore, as it is nearing or above 10 yrs from now. Do look for AE101 as well, it is also another good car. smile.gif

I must say be vary about wear and tear on these cars as the parts may need to replace, so u may need to spend more for that. FC wise wont be as good compared when they are new, which is normal actually.

Im driving an 15yr AE101 (M).
I believe it costs about 15-18k?

Maintenence - heavier than my old Wira for sure. Parts are a lil pricey but they last a long time.

FC - 74$ of petrol can get me about 450-470 km for Town use.

Most mechanics will tell u that this car hardly needs an overhaul (unless the prev owner trashes the car).

But all in all, Its a good car. No complaints.

AE101 1.6 would be less than or around RM26K. 1.3 version less than RM20K. currently driving a 1.3 pre-facelicfted version. 14 years old and still going strong. smile.gif

I saw 1 person want to selling his car 1.6 Auto Toyota SEG AE111 for rm29K. the condition is fully original, none even a bit modification.

Anyway, i have decided to drop buy used car, since the interest very high. Some more old car as heavy as Seg with 1.6, sure makan minyak de sweat.gif

haha actually my is plan for Savvy 2nd car, ppl say savvy no value, i saw rm35k for 05/05 Savvy AMT. Save petrol and it is 1.2, of course cant strong as Seg but better than other local cars blush.gif

SEG's FC is reasonable for a 1.6 car. tak makan minyak. believe me. unless ur fight foot being the culprit behind it. tongue.gif

Err....prefer ae101 than ae111 cos its shape more curvy....but its dirt cheap nowadays and one thing, more reliable than protons that age or can compare to now also...
In standard wise, its ok..Electrics never fail especially the powerwindows and such..no problems except for normal oil change. Absorbers/suspensions are kinda strong in this model if not trashed around cos mine was dated in 1993 and still goin strong compared to my 2001 lumpy ploton wira 1.5....FC wise is good if you dun go and trash it around....i recommend you get a manual for its "cheap" performance but if you dun like clutch, auto is good but price wise have to add atleast RM1-3k more....i cannot say its the best budget car but atleast it can still match today's car if you find a good one. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

My old stupid standard AE101.

Dude, thanks for making me reminding of my previous old faithful, which i have fun for a few years back during my college years before i have my myvi. Indeed it is a reliable and well built car, although a few faults including faulty power window on the left side, leaking power steering but still it is a hack of a car to drive.

This is also the car during my youth gung ho years, i did went 200km/h (iwth minor mods) in the highway once. Man those days. blush.gif

i really missed my old AE101 corolla alot. sad.gif
