i wanna ask:

i am currently using AMD Athlon 64 3000+ processor...i know its old...its still good..but its entry-level. I am a gamer and wishes to change it to AMD Athlon X2 6000+ (2x1mb) processor...using the same ASUS a8n-e "NON SLI" motherboard..is it possible?

if yes do i need to reformat windows n do a backup?
