for old geezers like us yes, but after JPA (finally) realises this is a huge problem they changed all the scolarships into loans , so that if the recipient cant get a government job that have to pay back part or most of the loan.

So basically it's not scholarship at all 🤔
Like this, better seek others "real" scholarship.. I'm sure if u top student. Even Singapore would support your studies 💪

Actually, the JPA scholars are required to report to SPA once completed their studies. But it is not guaranteed, and the degree i hold might be less specialize. So i am worried that aspect about Job prospect

Just accept the bank negara scholarship. It is far more secure and promising in terms of career progression in the future. Also, the allowance is much more than Jpa's. May I know which prep college bnm is sending you to? And what degree courses?

I am neither BNM's senior nor your scholars' batch. I was a recipient of Jpa scholarship (old system), currently working in a government agency.

I am suggesting it because I have a friend of mine (same SPM batch) who received the BNM Kijang Scholarship, but he applied by using Trial SPM (only for students from certain schools which BNM chooses). Basically, he entered into A-level college in January the following year for 1.5 years and studied maths in the UK.

But he is kind of a gifted student. He got the best student title in his uni for his course. BNM sees him as someone who can contribute back to the bank and the nation. Less than 1 month after graduation ceremony, he got a job with bnm and of course, he performed well in the job placement interview (only for scholars).

The starting salary for 1st level executives is quite competitive. All in all, you don't have much to sigh for. you only need to study and do well in other extra-curricular activities or leaderships.

I saw that you are also the one who posted petronas or jpa scholarship right?

This is just my suggestion, but you are free to make up your decision.

1. BNM
2. Petro
3. JPA

I was offered PIDN for those who applied PILN but did not make the cut. This was the old system back few years back. Yeah, currently in that work scheme. I was not privileged to be offered an overseas scholarship, but I persevered anyway.

It is just that BNM's cut off point is pretty high. 3A's only for A-level and you must receive offers from its list of approved universities. Lower than that, BNM has the right to stop sponsoring students for Bachelor's degree programme. And your performance in your job interview and your overall academic achievements are also important for you to be employed and serve the bank after completing your study.
