QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Jul 17 2019, 11:12 PM) Yes. It all depends on Netflix. You want Dolby Atmos in Netflix. You need either one of the following.
- Apple TV 4K (requires tvOS 12 or later)
- LG OLED TVs (2017 or newer models)
- Panasonic TVs (2019 or newer models)
- Pixela 4K Smart Tuner
- Sony BRAVIA Android TVs (2018 or newer models)
- Toshiba TVs (2019 or newer models)
- Vizio TVs (2018 or newer models)
- Windows 10 computer or tablet (requires Windows 10 RS3 Build 16299 or later)
- Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X
Does LG 4K UHD TVs' Netflix able to support Atmos? the 4K UHD series (SMxxxx) natively support Dolby Atmos as well, but Netflix only put LG OLED on the list ....

Need advice. I'm almost ready for 4k UHD Atmos setup. Already got myself a Sony Oled 65A8f and a samsung Q90R 7.1.4 soundbar for my living room.
Now missing a player as current PS4 pro and Window 10 laptop doesn't play my 4k UHD media content.
Shortlisted 1. Nvidia shield 2. XBox One X 3. Sony X700 UHD player
Which one should I pick

QUOTE(sonypshomer @ Jul 18 2019, 08:43 AM) Kodi on XBOX-One-X now support 4K Atmos, but you have to uninstall the old Kodi which will be black out when you start it, with a clean install from microsoft apps store. Hi bro, Since u have both Xbox one and Nvidia shield and playing the same 4k UHD source from rip purchased 4k uhd BD. Mind to share which player better in term of PQ and issues? Thanks.

This list actually provided by Netflix: https://help.netflix.com/en/node/64066I have checked with Netflix's Live Chat, as long as your device (i.e. TV) is compatible with Dolby Atmos Audio, you will be able to get the Atmos sound on the TV speaker itself or pass-through to your Atmos soundbar. The keypoint is your TV have to support Dolby Atmos first. According to Live Chat, LG 2019's high-end Nanocell SMART TV can support Dolby Atmos on Netflix too, although it is not on this list. You can verify with Netflix first before you make your purchase.

Someone already reply you. Dolby Atmos won't work if your source either TV or devices not support it even though your SoundBar support.

Display - Sony 65 OLED A8F android TV. Audio - Samsung Q90R 7.1.4 Atmos and DTS X soundbar Player- Nvidia Shield
So far tested Movie with Netflix premium from the android TV and got Dolby vision and Atmos sound working. The ARC works for lossy Atmos format.
Many thanks for all the advices given to guide me for Atmos system setup.

How high is your ceiling?

QUOTE(mois @ Jul 30 2019, 10:25 PM) How much did you buy your Q90R soundbar? Can you really feel atmos with the soundbar? How high is your ceiling? Rm4299. Now Samsung doing pwp until tomorrow. Can get from Harvey Norman or senheng. I audition expensive full discrete avr 7.1.2 Atmos home theater b4 and found out this q90r still not performing well in the front height channel with ceiling speakers eg. like plane flying over on top of you but doing great in 360 dome sound effect. Eg. Raining, jungle animal sound fill up the whole living room. I have a dedicated HT room and I choose soundbar for my living room to maintain a simple and neat setup. My ceiling height is low and I believe it will help the reflective front height and rear height sounds better. Overall I'm satisfy with this q90r soundbar as it giving me Atmos surround effect that I can accept. Last night watch a Japanese ghost movie from netflix 5.1 channel with this soundbar and the stimulate Atmos effect really got me and my wife scared few times.
