Kinda boring with those "Pls advise what camera should buy" or "Should i buy Canon 400D or Nikon D40" threads in this forum.

How about this? What is ur definitoon of photography or what it does means to u?

For me, photography = Science + Art biggrin.gif

Yes, It's a beautiful way of using technology and combining it with the art of lights, colors and composition to capture beautiful moments in life, moments where words can never suffice in describing.

To me, there are too many thing we are unable to control in our life, at work, we have to follow boss direction, at home we have to consider family before making any decision, when shopping we have to check how much left in the wallet/bank.

Only when holding a camera, I can control it to what I want, what setting I want, what angle I like, all by myself...This is the feel make me comfortable to hold a camera.

Capturing the moment that will never be repeated. Enjoying again the moment you have felt when looking at the picture in the future. Relishing the feelings that were forever lost as the next second ticks.

Experience, feeling, expression, passion, indulgence... That what photography is all about.

Photography cannot be compared with other forms of creativity. For example, in some ways writing can very well illuminate the whole *picture* better because, there's always an beginnning and ending before the *picture*

Photography can't do that, because you only have one picture. Fine, u can take loads of pictures, but the meaning would be lost, wouldn't it?

So what is photography? To capture moments? Yeah, that's true. To capture beauty? I totally agree! =Pp

But for me, it's totally different, I take time composing my shots, because when I take a picture, it means something, doesn't matter if it's me, or another person, but the point is, it has meaning, a message.

Perhaps, to me, it enchances my story.

I don't know about others... but for me, after taking up this hobby many years ago, I start seeing things within a frame. I mean I would try to put a rectangular frame on a view, and imagine how it will look within that rectangular frame. This hobby also helps me to have a better observation on those tiny things: bugs, small flowers, etc.
