Pugs are purebred from Asia which existed long time ago. They are not man made like bulldogs.
Poodles are originated from many types of European water dogs. They have 3 sizes and rank within the top three most intelligent dogs on most lists,second behind Border Collie.

Anyway, the problem here is never the dog. It's the owner. Owners don't train the dog, then it's gonna be a problem. Sure the trait of a Pitbull is aggressive but it can be trained.

When I went to an obedience class, I saw this lady 5'2" or so only, not even 50kg from her looks. She has an American Bully which is like twice her size (body size). I remember the first day she was in class, she end up kena drag at the park by her dog.
