Looks like the usual route like everyone elses'. It took longer this time as it stuck 5 days in shanghai, then stuck 1 extra day in Korea, then another extra day in shenzhen. Nevertheless glad u finally got it 👍

Just sharing my ongoing experience of Lenovo Thinkbook purchase, direct from Lenovo website, laptop now currently in shipping from China

When purchase everything going smooth, got discount voucher, etc, laptop cost RM2624.64, order made on 10/10, now this is where things get strange

Before going to detail, allow me to explain this, "authorization" mean merchant lock the amount, the money will float, but not yet deduct from credit card (but credit limit will reduce).
“Charged” mean transaction done, money deducted from credit card

Below is the “transaction” by Lenovo

10/10 authorize RM 2624.64
18/10 authorize RM 2624.64
26/10 authorize RM 2624.64

Total authorize RM 7873.92

02/11 charged RM 2624.64

Still floating RM 5249.28

First transaction go as normal, order online, receive OTP for card, done payment, but for 18 and 26 Lenovo can authorize my card without my knowledge, also no notification from bank until I called them.
Somehow Lenovo can “authorized” my card without I key in OTP (then what’s the purpose of OTP?
Why Lenovo need RM7873.92 to secure a RM 2624.64 laptop?
As of today RM 5249.28 is still floating, it minus my credit limit as well.
Today holiday Lenovo say payment team cuti, call back tomorrow.

I ordered a laptop from lenovo yesterday, but the OVP is still showing “Your order is currently on hold due to credit issue, please check your mailbox or contact seapayments@lenovo.com for further details”.

I paid using credit card and there was no issue at all during payment. Asked their live chat and they requested me to talk to their post-sales team tomorrow because today is deepavali. Just curious if anyone here had same issue?

Cause LNV still selling the same thing, but at RM3.7k for same specs. It will be ridiculous if they denied to sell to you the cheaper price which you had ordered legitimately.

Yeah I was worried they would cancel it using payment issue as excuse.

I think the mark up to rm3.7k is their preparation for 11.11. At 3.7k, i would rather buy dell g15 at rm3.8k.

suppose Intel Wifi but comes with MediaTek. If you order in October 2021, probably you will not have wifi brand/model in your order. They updated the list to Wifi only without brand/ model.

If you have LenovoPro account, they are having 11.11 promo for some model with "SPECIALPRO" code applied.

for 2.8k resolution screen, I did recommend you the Yoga Slim 7 Pro (14) OLED version, which is only RM5899 (after discount somewhere around RM53xx) , that is limited spec version which lot of country can't even get one.

ThinkBook 16p actually same chassis with the Legion Slim 7 , which has pretty good thermal headroom and performance. (although Slim 7 has higher wattage on GPU).
