lets scrap those Ferrari, Porsche and those superfast cars which are more than 15 year old. They are only worth around RM5000, says those idiots. With the money you guys can buy new saga with 20 year old tech. rclxms.gif

"Kebanyakan kereta yang berumur lebih 15 tahun bernilai sekitar RM5,000 saja seunit. Kereta berumur sebegini sering kali bermasalah dan alat ganti sukar dicari. Jadi, inilah peluang pengguna kereta `tua' beralih kepada kereta lebih baik.

ini apa merepek ni

As it is just a voluntary, be thankful for that as i cant imagine what of this is compulsory. I think it works best for those old general cars like kancils, wiras, iswaras (tons of them), saga, sunny and so on as those car hardly reach 5k++ by the time they r 15 yrs old. Of coz i wont ask to scrap an 15 yr old Porsche or merc which may value up to 10-20k still.

I cant really understand y every1 makes it sound like it is complusary to scrape cars above 15 yr old. Read the 1st thread n understand properly b4 commenting anything please.

D only part I cant agree on d policy is who is goin to cough up d money for reimbursement. I cannot imagine P1 forkin out tat amount considering how deep they got themselves in their own s**t. But most likely, our gov will b pumpin in finance assitance (public's money) again.

My family now owns a 72' and 73' Datsun n a 82" Sunny. We need all of them n frankly speakin all of them r very well looked after even though each will no longer fetch more then 4k.

Deja Vu, ya i'm pretty sure that those vouchers are not exchangable for cash and most probably only usable in certain car vendors.

The study is inaccurate, it doesn't quite make sense.

If they'd like to stimulate the local market, please, remove the road tax, AND not only you'll get better sales, you'll get less road accident deaths, and prolly less car thefts too, as that should hit the demand for 'stolen items'.

stupid government
*
which government in the right mind would abolish road tax? why is it less road accidents? wouldn't it be more cars, therefore more accidents? I can't imagine how jamm it would be if got so many cars rolleyes.gif

That's what I thought also. And most probably can only buy proton cars with the voucher. If the deal with vw is off, proton gonna have a big problem unless government do something to help them.

Car sales are quite bad nowadays. Things get worse when the bank nowadays hard to give loan

Anyway, if they really want to help proton, i think they should give 5k for any old car that still can move.

Btw, what are you guys complaining about. It is not like they force you to scrap your car or anything rolleyes.gif

It's voluntary you morons...VOLUNTARY!!! Means goverment don't FORCE you to exchange your 15 year old Ferari or something. Those people say goverment brainless and stupid, I think you all are stupider than the goverment yourself!! If you think your car is worth more than 5K then don't change la...where the fcuk are you brains? your ass?

Not satisfied don't change..it's voluntary and not compulsory. I can't believe the standard of english of LYN forumers is this bad...or maybe it's just because of the "i want to blame goverment" mentality that they become stupid pigs themselves

i like your 'subtle' style. tongue.gif

do ask any owner who've restored any classic car on how much they spent to do it. my personal experience of rebuilding a 'made in 1965' car, which costs nearly RM15k in total. something like RM5K is just spent @ the wheels sect (brakes, wheels, tires) alone!

hey if it's not voluntary, then us classic car lovers are doomed! haha..

about this voluntary scrapping :-

1. must the old car be road worthy still ? does it apply to kereta potong as well ?

2. can i scrap two cars and then used the affregate value to buy a new car ?

3. instead of Proton, can i used the money as downpayment for perodua instead ?
