from what I read on social media their main concern in vegan restaurant is cooking wine used in the stir fry dishes
like shaoxing wine/huatiaojiu

if I'm not mistaken there's an incident where Chef Wan getting flamed for using shaoxing wine in his dish during cooking demonstration on tv. but in another show where he went to London for cooking duel with street food sellers,saw him tasting stuffed pastry with beef cooked in red wine. np he just relax.

my Muslim friends are completely cool with the usage of cooking wine no problem eating together here but the same cannot be said to others.
