someone talk bullshit about professionalism here. Don't be a dog to your employer la. his contract is one year optional and arsenal exercised it. He also has a right not to accept the exercise la if he does not want to. If he is bad, he will perform bad in his last season so arsenal could sell him.

This is like probation period for someone to work in a Company. both employee and employer can have option to extend or to quit. Koscielny has right to quit the contract too.

Arsenal as a club should let him go if his heart is not in London anymore. What's the point to play someone who has no heart and homesick.

Mutual respect. No point to keep an bad apple or soulless player. He is here for Arsene Wenger. Just to remind you guys.

Which Kos clearly is now. Being a dog to his employer

The option stated in the contract, is that it is optional for Arsenal to extend it and NOT Koscielny, he has no right or claim to whatever decision Arsenal makes, and if Arsenal chooses to extend it, like Arsenal has, then he is contracted to Arsenal for an additional year whether he wants it or not. Simple as that.

And still being contracted to Arsenal, he is liable to whatever terms that is spelled out in that contract he agreed and signed since day 1 till the very last day of his employment which has now been extended an additional year. Any other way and it will be a BREACH in contract.

As things remain the only way out for Koscielny is to buy out the remaining year, or convince Arsenal to mutually terminate. But as far as his contract goes, he is legally contracted to provide an additional year's service to Arsenal because Arsenal exercised that option.

Also please use some common sense, even the stupid example you gave, "both employee and employer can have option to extend or to quit." If the employee has any say or power to decide things even if the employer from your stupid example wants you to stay after probation but you want to leave you can just leave without any repercussion and the employer wouldn't have been able to do a thing. It is obvious it doesn't work that way with football contracts because if it was like as you said, Koscielny could've just left and there would be no consequences. He would not have needed to beg Arsenal for mutual termination and there would have been no need to pull off any of his stupid antics like refusing to go on tour like a spoiled child.

Also if Koscielny had any right to quit the contract at all, he could've just walked away and it wouldn't be regarded as BREACH of contract.

On legal and technical terms, he was being a spoil brat and unprofessional. You are right on that. Granted that, he was also practicing his right to protest. On legal terms, the club can fine him. But however, if the club decided not to do so and forgave him, he might feel regret and go along with the club's decision. Arsenal should have just sell him. The bad apple is screwing up the team's morale.

Anyhow, he is no longer the Kos that we used to know. He is here for Arsene Wenger. Just to remind you guys.

Right to protest? Based on what grounds and what is Koscielny actually protesting? Protesting that Arsenal chose to exercise a clause in his contract he knew about since day 1, agreed upon and signed himself? LOL please la........

Anyway he is a shit player now and way past it. I am grateful for what he has done for the club, but itโ€™s not like the club or the fans, who have compensated him well and have supported him through thick and thin respectively, owe him anything. To me it is actually a blessing he pulled this stunt which will more or less cement his departure from the club and force Arsenal to maybe step up a search for a new CB. Good riddance.

I call that silent protest. And if you throw in the player's agent into this shenanigan, u get the bigger picture. $$$$$

Like it or not, footballers have more rights these days.

Are you seriously just plain stupid or just plain thick and dense as a brick?

Do I look like I am a freaking Dortmund fan or do I even give a single shit about what happens at Dortmund?

Auba was unprofessional at Dortmund, that I won't deny, and Dortmund fans or anyone associated with Dortmund have every right to be angry and disappointed with him over this, plus things like this are never nice to see or hear about irregardless of who you support. But the most important thing is, he is at Arsenal now and as far as I am concerned, as an Arsenal fan who doesn't give a fk about what happens at any other team, as long as he or any other of the players keeps themselves in check whilst contracted to Arsenal I am fine.

He hasn't done anything wrong at Arsenal so far hasn't he? Feel free to label me a hypocrite if I fail to call him or any other Arsenal player out for that matter if they pull off the same shitty, childish antics and acts unprofessionally like Koscielny has while still contracted to Arsenal. But until then, just sit tight and stop embarrassing yourself.

then you are selfish prick who think about yourself and wanna win an argument. Koscielny also later after leave arsenal also fine at new club. just forget it right. you funny as a fan. wanna koscielny to leave but keep saying unprofessional. you should thank him rather than talk biatch about him.

funny funny.. I am as arsenal fan is happy he is leaving. why should I need to say bad about him and say he is unprofessional. he is already professional with his perfomance last year. he wanna leave let him leave la.

Like I said, I am grateful for what he has contributed to the club, but it doesn't take away the fact that what he has done clearly violates the terms of his contract while still contracted to Arsenal. And that is unprofessional behavior. Simple as that.

The only person who is a selfish prick and wants to win an argument here is you. You have been repeatedly proven wrong and shown to know absolutely jack shit about contracts and legality yet you still refuse to let it go and is being unreasonable here.

If Koscielny wants to leave he can, but only provided Arsenal gives consent, which they didn't. So be a professional, and honor the contract which he is obligated to, in which he himself have gone through, agreed and signed it in the first place, instead of acting like a spoiled brat, stamping his feet like a big baby refusing to go on tour just because the club refused his request which Arsenal has every right to. And I hope Arsenal fines and disciplines him nicely to show that this sort of unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated.

Whether Arsenal is morally right or wrong to not accept his request is another matter altogether. But for discussion sake I would have supported the decision to mutually terminate his contract and let him leave as a sign of good will for all the year's of service he has given to the club. I have always maintained that keeping an unhappy player is never healthy for the club and they should be cut loose immediately (since you clearly are too free and have too much time on your hands to dig up old posts you can find my most recent post about Reyes, his homesickness, and how I thought it was right to let him go at that time since he didn't want to remain at the club anymore in a reply to another forummer) because in the long run the club will only be at the losing end when these unhappy players kept at the club against their will under-performs and starts to affect results and everyone else around them.

But Arsenal have chosen to extend his contract and it is what it is.

Just to sum things up, like I have mentioned, I will be happy to see him leave because he is past it, and the wages we can free up from him leaving will contribute into the rebuilding of this squad. And I have also mentioned that I am grateful for what he has done for the club. I am not taking away anything from what he has done for the club and he should be honored in a way that befits his contribution, like maybe a testimonial to mark and thank him for his service but at the same time I condemn him for his recent actions and behavior which was unacceptable, unprofessional and an utter disgrace. Is that so bloody hard to understand? lmao.

Anyway I am ending this here and will no longer reply to any more of your posts on this topic. You can continue being an ignorant fool all you want. I am done here.

Cheers.
