The U.S. is a very harsh country. Healthcare costs are exorbitant and even if you have insurance the deductibles can wipe you out. It is a very litigious society with people suing for trivial matters for the sake of money. This is a country where you can quickly transition from middle class to homeless because of a medical condition or defending from litigation. There is only a thin social welfare net and no govt assistance is given for college fees. Taxation is high and collection is relentless. You need to pay tax even on income outside U.S. There are far more homeless people in U.S. than in Malaysia. Lack of gun control means that you or your children could be the victim of mass shootings. It is no country to grow old in as it has the highest health care and medicine cost in the world. The minimum wage is not a livable wage. Even middle class Americans are struggling.

So why do you want a green card?

Yeah, racist, income tax if work outside USA, expansive healthcare cost. Dream of many like this huh?

because, there is something called the American Dream and that there is nothing stopping a motivated individual to raise above it all and become a great.. You can do whatever the hell you want in the US. No restrictions whatsoever.

There is also something called freedom and civil rights. America is the worlds leading country in this and there truly isn't anything stopping you from achieving what you want to achieve.

America is great because you can go right up to their President and say 'fuck you, you phony'. And you will not be thrown into prison, beaten up or die from doing it. They won't even stop you.. nobody can stop you from doing that.

You under-rate freedom and what you are proposing is a commonwealth/welfare state. You would be better off living in a country like say Australia or UK or Germany if that is what you are after.

Spot on.....having said that, america is great to grow one's career and make money.......it's good when you are young, healthy and ambitious..........Wouldn't want to stick around longer than required.

The best arrangement is to have the right of abode or the indefinite leave to remain in Canada and the right to work in the US......this can be achieved through Canadian PR with an L1 visa or a canadian passport with a TN visa.

You have drunk too much from the american kool aid and have bought into the marketing........not everybody gets to be Jeff bezos.
All things considered, it's not even common for anyone to be in the top 5% in america - that's making at least $300k a year

The promise of striking gold in the US is like saying that if you master the art of card counting enough, you can make it big in a casino....

Freedom is readily available elsewhere too, I would say probably more freedom than in the US..........if you're into vices, you're free to hire prostitutes in Germany, Switzerland and Netherlands. Your freedom to do that is restricted in the US. You can abort and marry a person of the same sex much easier elsewhere than in the US for many many years now

As for yelling at the president or a leader of a country, you can do that too in Europe or Canada........andrew sheer called justin trudeau a phoney and a fraud on national tv....at the 0.30 mark

There's essentially nothing that would prevent you from living like a human being, nothing that would deny you freedom from living fully like a human in many countries - in Canada, in Europe in Australia. Unless you are searching for the freedom to screw other people over i.e. patenting medicine and price it out from people who need it, then of course the US gives you that "freedom"

This absolutely spot on.

land of the free and home of the brave seems only applicable to only American's and even among them they have a pretty divisive culture.

Nonsense.. have you seen what the SJW & leftist liberals have done to Canada??

Fuck man.. you wanna talk about how much taxes these countries levy towards their citizens? 40-50%.. all gone to their leftist agendas, like late term abortions and gender transitioning of 8 years old.. sick fucks..

America has the most robust constitution in the world. Their founding fathers built them up based on this and no matter how much you twist and turn the truth, the facts remains that America was of the people, by the people, & for the people. And this is what makes them the greatest country in the world today..

I hate to break it to ya, but conservatives are slowly but surely taking over the western world again. UK have elected a majorly conservative party that will now get BREXIT done (kudos to them dumping the hell-hole that is EU). America is being led by a centrist republican party that is keeping America great (worlds best economy). Australia are being lead by the conservative party too. Even Canada have significantly cut the liberals power into half. Next election, the conservatives will fully take control of Canada again.

Decades and decades of useless & wasteful liberal ideas and socialist cronies are being flushed down the drain. It's a great time to be living in UK, America and Australia again.

It is a super idiotic time to be living in rest of Europe, canada, and any country that supports commie, liberal, leftist trash ideas. You wanna talk about drowning, they are truly drowning. Not the US.

lol....troll indeed.

I live in Canada and never been happier. I don't qualify for bumi discount but I qualify for first time home buyer program even as a foreign resident. I also have authorization to work in america too, american opportunities and canadian sensibility and stability and if Canada is sinking as you say, it wouldn't be ranked #1 for its quality of life

What the heck is quality of life defined as? hahah.. man.. such a surface description..
I bet you are enjoying the inflated housing prices and job security.

I guess you can shovel snow and be happy with the rest of your life. But others, do aspire for something more.. good luck with your middle income 'stability' cough *boring* cough lifestyle however.

It's ok, it's a concept a feeble mind of yours would not be able to appreciate.

How presumptuous........if home prices are inflated, how would one afford a unit on a middle class income? Granted that home prices are inflated, how did one afford to own one?

Feeble mind you say.

Presumptuous you say.. i think you need a good hard look in the bloody mirror.

Here are some facts for you about America.

World greatest economy. Worlds most powerful country. Worlds strongest constitution.

These are undisputable facts. You wanna talk about an economy that has turned to shit under a liberal party? Look no further than Canada.

But keep your illegal immigrants, weed, refugees, terrorists etc.

God knows the true canadians are fighting everyday to overturn your banana republic.. mark my words, Canada will be conservative in the next elections.

triggered and butthurt pulak.........so how did I afford a home at an expensive market? Weren't we talking about that?

Even if the US is the bestest, most powerful yadda yadda...how does it make your life better? It's like saying Bill Gates is the richest, no debates, undisputed facts.....yet, you still live in Msia earning a meagre wage....

You're not even living in Canada, earning CAD, komen bahlul. Did I also tell you that I work in the US? No idea why I'm speaking to a monkey on a Friday morning....

Like what you say, if you carry a Canadian passport and have the option for a TN1 visa would be ideal.
Milk the dollars in the US when younger and return to Canada when you need healthcare.

After my visit to Vancouver and Richmond, i have no idea how you guys manage to eat out so much, restaurant prices are expensive even when compared to SoCal prices shocking.gif

Healthcare-wise, i'm keeping my Msian insurance.

There's no need to carry a Canadian passport. A Msian passport with an L1 visa is good enough...though for only 5-7 years.

But definitely, make some money in the US then spend a peaceful life in Canada

Eating out can be expensive but it can also be cheap if you know where to go.
