so i've only recently experienced the staingate issue on my late 2013 MBP.
its quite visually apparent with huge patches from all parts of the screen; mainly the middle.

been researching about how to get it fixed and many have suggested in the past to bring it to an authorised apple care shop.
thing is, my MBP is a late 2013 version and many have said that apple covers this issue upto 4 years of the date of purchase; my MBP is 6 years old.
for reference, i'm mainly looking at the service centre at sunway pyramid as i'm located in shah alam.

my question then is, will an apple care shop still fix the staingate issue for me FOC?
i highly doubt it, so im curious as to how much it would cost for me to repair the screen on my own dime.

also, please do leave below some suggestions on how i could DIY the problem away.
so far i've used glass cleaner and isopropyl alcohol and it barely removes the coating.

thanks!

The recall is for unit within 4 years of purchase. You could try calling appleCare and talk to a senior advisor and see if they could give exception.

If were out of option from Apple. And would like to try any diy method. I would strongly suggest to take extra precautions. Recently one owner try to do something to the coating and end up damaging the screen.
