too bad i did not encounter this thread years back when i was rearing a lot of hamsters

i had this female hamster...she gave birth twice but ate up her babies twice!!!

and i din even touch the babies or move the babies...

after the first time,i thought she ate up the babies bcos we kept on looking at the babies thru the cage...so the 2nd time round i covered the whoel cage with a piece of cloth and after few days...no more babies left!!!

any ideas on why this happened?
