Gotta check if that portion of the land extended out beyond the gate and before the yellow line is in his house plan (usually no). If it is, you're parking on his property. Legally, you can't park there too coz there's yellow line there. But there's always this unwritten rule (though incorrect) that spot in front of the house belongs to the house owner. Some ppl are cool with it and some ppl don't. I think you should've check with the owner if it's okay to park at that spot though that spot doesn't belongs to him legally. Saves you a lot of trouble and hassle. To what end I ask you when things have developed till this point?
