what i need is: Compact High optical zoom wide angle lens optical stablizier thanks.... |

Compact cameras have no high optical zoom, unless you call 3x zoom as high.
850IS sounds cool to your requirement, but it doesn't fulfill high optical zoom as it has only 3.8x. |

i think it's better for you pay a visit to camera shop, snap a photo with both camera, print it out and compare the skin tone etc... hold it in your hand and 'feel' the camera. Compare the speed, lcd, lag time... It will be easier for you to make a choice.
