NanoLub - Product Overview and WS2

Tungsten Disulfide[I] - Also known as WS2. Disulfide is one of the most lubricious materials known to science. With Coefficient of Friction (dynamic at 0.07, static at 0.03), it offers excellent dry lubricity unmatched to any other substance. It can also be used in high temperature and high pressure applications. It offers temperature resistance from -450o F (-270o C) to 1200o F (650o C) in normal atmosphere and from -305o F (-188o C) to 2400o F (1316o C) in Vacuum.

NanoLub RC-X is the miracle product that you have been waiting for. The innovative and award winning additive for antifriction (AF)/antiwear (AW) is the first successful commercial implementation of inorganic, multi-layered fullerene shaped nanoparticles in Extreme Pressure (EP). NanoLub RC-X product has proven to be having outstanding capacity to improve engine performance and extend oil life under EP condition.

The efficacy of inorganic fullerene-like (IF) tungsten disulfide (WS2) nanoparticles as engine oil friction modifier additive was investigated using a high-stroke reciprocating piston ring–cylinder bore bench test system. Frictional characteristics of various IF-WS2 nanoparticle concentrations in mineral oil were experimentally analyzed in simulated engine conditions controlling oil temperature, speed, and normal load. Though the effect of IF-WS2 nanoparticles on piston ring and cylinder bore friction was minor in low concentrations, after a running period in a mixed lubrication regime with 10% additive, a considerable reduction in friction coefficient was observed when the IF-WS2 formulated oil was use.
