I would appreciate if folks who have installed Huper Optik Sech60 on the front windscreen and C40 for the rest of the sides and rear windscreens could share your ecperience if you have switched to another tint on the same or different vehicle.

Are there other tints which outperform the heat rejection performance of the Sech60/C40. Although the VLT of the Sech60 is 59% which is below the permissible 70% set by the government, in my experience the heat rejection property is inferior to the V-Kool Elite with VLT 71% if my memory doesn't fail me.

I am guessing there is no measuring device to measure and compare the TSER or SHGC which are claimed to be the top 2 properties which affect heat rejection of tints despite all the nice numbers published on the spec or paper of manufacturers? If that is the case I presume we would have to rely on real life experiences or impressions of owners without any measuring tools involved.

I have only noticed JPJ officers measuring the VLT of vehicles with a hand-held device in the news on TV lately after our Transport Minister announced the new ruling of tinting on vehicles. However, I am not aware if there is a similar hand-held device to measure the TSER or SHGC values of a tint.

If focusing on the front windscreen, is there a tint with VLT70% or higher which outperform the Huper Optik Sech60? In my experience, the Sech60 is fairly good when new (spectacularly outstanding) in terms of rejecting heat from the sun although the VLT of 59% is on the low side. However, I find the performance to deteriorate quicker than V-Kool. Deterioration starts around 2 to 3 years and after 5 years it feels like there is no tint on the car. With V-Kool Elite the tint still performs admirably with little drop in performance after 5 years on my older car.

Seeking experiences from owners who have used Huper Optik Sech60 and C40 so that I have a benchmark on what to expect. Thoughts would be appreciated.

Another question for folks who have got caught in a road block by JPJ or police whereby the officers measured the VLT of the tint on your vehicle and found that they are not in compliance. Do they issue summons on the spot or they require you to go to Puspakom to have the tint reinspected and removed?

It is interesting that even though the VLT for front and side windscreens are 70% and 50% respectively, I cannot see through the windows of some vehicles, even for the front and sides. Seems like those vehicles have 10% or 20% VLT tint on the front and sides.

My previous Nissan Sylphy was on V-Kool Elite complete package for the whole car from 2007 to 2013 and no issues with oxidation throughout the 5+ years of ownership until I sold the car. I can surely vouch for the superior heat rejection of the car as it feels a lot cooler than Huper Optik. Only the disadvantages mentioned earlier spoil it a little (issue with GPS navigation and auto gate remote) apart from the higher pricing. The V-Kool package came together with the car when I bought it from Nissan Tan Chong and the price was quoted at RM3,600 if i am not mistaken though i suspect outside installers may be charging lower at RM2k+.

Huper Optik C70 is inferior to the Sech60 as the TSER is lower. If you haven't tried V-Kool.you will regard HO as adequate. I switched from V-Kool to HO Sech60/C40 and it was a downgrade in heat rejection performance. The only upgrade I got with HO is every single electronic device which transmits signal or electromagnetic waves, and I mean everything, work on the Huper Optik.

For my next vehicle, Huper Optik is definitely out of consideration for the front windscreen, that is for sure. Will likely go back to V-Kool highest spec with VLT > 70% unless there is someone who says that something else has better heat rejection(and better still at a lower price) than the V-Kool. Hafiez recommended Raytech but I'm not sure.

With the new regulation of 0% VLT for rear and side rear, I may still consider Huper Optik highest spec which is the C20 (VLT 21% if guessed it right). It is just the front windscreen whereby I need to get a really good one.

By the way, the VLT of Huper Optik Sech60 is 59% so if enforcement is rampant, cars installed with this tint will get into trouble with the authorities. Touch would my vehicle which is almost 6 years with the Sech60 hasn't met with any road block. It is not surprising some motorists dare to tint the windows of their vehicles with a considerably dark tint since enforcement seems to be non-existent.

With the new tint ruling coming into effect, I suspect the authorities may start to carry out road blocks soon. Only the Sech60 and C40 on the front and side front windscreens of my vehicle are not in compliance but since they are close to ineffective, I wouldn't mind if they tear down the tints on the spot. I was just wondering if summons would be issued though.

Is your car C-segment or D-segment? Back in 2013, it costs RM1,550 to do an entire C-segment car with Huper Optik Sech60 for front windscreen and C40 for the rest of the windscreens.

For front windscreen, the TSER value between C40 and Sech60 is very close, just a 1% difference. But Sech60 VLT at 59% is higher than the C40 VLT which is at 42%. It is risky to use C40 on the front windscreen as the VLT is low at 42%, and since there isn't much difference in TSER between C40 and Sech60, personally there isn't much sense using C40 for the front windscreen when you can opt for Sech60. Am I missing something?

I can surely agree on the rather low cost of tint and trouble-free Smart Tag, GPS device or other electronic devices with Huper Optik. Hence, as I mentioned earlier, I may still go with Huper Optik but not for the front windscreen as the Sech60 which is the highest spec but still low VLT of 59% is still inferior in terms of heat rejection when compared to the competitor.

My ideal setup:-

Front windscreen : V-Kool or other brand of highest spec tint with high TSER with minimum VLT 70%
Front side windscreen : Huper Optik Sech60 (VLT 59%, TSER 54%)
Front rear windscreen : Huper Optik C20 (VLT 21%, TSER 67%))
Rear windscreen : Huper Optik C20 (VLT 21% , TSER 67%)

For me, the front windscreen is the most important as the sunlight will penetrate right in front of you, so no compromise here. At least you can still install sun shades to the side windscreens but there is nothing you can do for the front windscreen where most of the sunlight will be coming from.

If combining V-kool and Huper Optik on a vehicle, I am guessing that all electronic devices will work too. It's only when you tint all the windows with V-kool then you will have problems with 1 or 2 devices.

The Tables below taken from Huper Optik website. You can compare on the VLT and TSER of the C40 and Sech60. The difference in TSER between C40 and Sech60 is 1% which is negligible.

You can wind down the windows, but if your front windscreen is too dark, the JPJ will stop your car and when he noticed that the side windows are all down, he may ask you to get the windscreen up.

I used V-kool Elite for entire car before. I don't have problem with Smart Tag. Only GPS and auto remote.

For me, front windscreen is most important and the highest spec tint which can reject the heat from the sun must be placed here, at least in my book. Hence I don't think I can settle with Huper Optik C70 for the front windscreen when it is already inferior to the Sech60 which in my mind is worse than V-Kool.

Will see how it goes.

Yes, that's my experience as well. Not buying new cars yet so no chance to consider Vkool
