Question:

I need to go out of town for about a week and it's a sudden notice, can I leave the hamster at home for a week ?

I am using the normal Habitrail Mini with 2 hamster in it.

You can leave it for a week provided you hang 2 water bottles or 1 bigger one, food, you throw in as much hamster food in as you can. But it would be much better if you could ask a friend to help you... coz hamster can fight anytime and if they do and you are not around, it could be fatal.

Thanks for the reply.

I notice that the standard habitrail mini water container only last for 3 days....
I think the hamster actually played with the water because the 2nd day I still can see the water at the head level then end of 3rd day all water dissapeared.

Well, I hope with 2 bowl of food + 2 bottle of water is good enuff.

Question + Worry.

I was holding my hamster on my hand and suddenly I saw some blood stain on my hand. Initially I tot the hamster was injured so I checked around the hamster.
It was from the private part. I saw her "drop" + some blood. I believe it was blood becuase it's redish in color.
I quickly put her back into the cage and she was just lying there. After a while she get into the wheel and start running.
Is that something wrong ?

Updates: I was cleaning the cage earlier so I put both of them into a KFC bucket with the bowl of food. After cleaning and put them back into the cage, they seems very active and run around. Sniff and run around trying to find a way out. That's why I took her out on my hand. I did the same last week but this time they act very weird.

Hamsters do not bleed during heat lah..... blood stains.... means kidney problem already..... hamsters come on heat through smell and also a whitish liquid can be seen in syrians on heat. But for dwarfs.... no.... blood stains means something internal has happened. It can either be harmless or fatal....
