honestly if you want your hamster to have a nice living environment, you should just spend RM20+ and buy it a tank. That'll solve all your problems.  smile.gif

Welcome....

you are better off with a tank than a cage.... a tank is safer, can see hamster clearly and they feel more comfortable than a cage.... you want to cover the metal floor of the 2nd floor of the cage? You can always use cardboard.... then change it everytime it dirties.... there is nothing else... hamsters got tiny sensitive feet... metal cages with metal floors can cause slips and twisted joints. I saw it in a few hamsters and even mice before....

Agree with lance8431..

This might happen hmm.gif because of the food..sweet stuff..

try to put ur hammy in a safer place..from all this ant..Always clean the place u put ur hammy..

I got a friend she annoyed her hammy..with the ant..and this cause the hammy sick and die..plus is pretty scary too..cuz the inside the hammy body cry.gif ..a lot of ants..and also be careful the things u use to avoid the ants..it might hurt ur hammy..

Hope u could solve ur problem soon.. smile.gif

The tanks are plastic aquariums easily available at any shop selling aquariums and fishes. Roughly cost RM25 to Rm30 for the 1.5ft tank.

Sample here:

Well, cages are more better for mice.... unless you use Habitrail or Critter Trail or Wild brand.... their cages are safer and are more meant for hamsters. Those for sale and are locally made, the manufactures do not think about what would happen to the hamsters.... they are generally thinking of making it attractive for us consumers to buy. Many of us fall into those traps hahaha.... hard to resist nice and cheap cages.
