My hamsters just given birth to 5 baby hammies.... I already separate the male from the cage. So pity, the male now gotta live alone in a 1.5 litre mineral water PET bottle. Anyone wanna help me take care of this male?

I think the male one is comfortable itself. I cutted off 2 bottle 1.5 litre and combine it together (using me creativity, i managed to do so) so that he can run here and there. It looks like more fun than the cage. He is doing fine.

My hamster babies has opened their eyes and start to run around in cage lo. I also put back the male hamster in to the same cage. However, one funny things i saw is the male keep on hide his food in his mouth making his mouth big like balloon. I wonder wat is this behavior.

Why you put back the male hamster? You wanna breed again? That is also so risky coz some females will attack another hamster be it her sister or brother or partner coz hamsters got short memories and they cannot remember each other after a few days of separation.....

If your hamster keeps taking and keeping his food in his cheeks, it means he is uncomfortable at eating... could be too many hamsters in 1 cage and he is trying to hoard away his food. If he doesn't spit out his food, it can cause cheek pouch infection since bacteria will accumulate in his cheek pouches due to food and saliva in it.

Yaya, i wan them to breed again. I believe they are quite bored if both are separated from each other. It's like separating a couple and preventing them to see each other. They are old lover ma. LOL... I just bought a bigger cage to support the big family before give the youngs to my fren until they are grown up enough to be separated from their mother. All four of the babies now are running like having fun with the mommy and daddy. So happy seeing them so "hang fook"...

lol..is it WW or campbell?din know they can jump that high..perhaps u can get a plastic tank..they can chew the paper box n escape

Ya, i think it is WW. I was really 0.0 when i see it jumps so high. You're right i already bought him to a new bigger cage. But he seem very boring with new cage. Really feel like wanna put him back him paper box. Too bad it already chew a small hole there.

Har? You thought it was having fun in the paper box? It was jumping and running around, trying to find a way to escape. It feels uncomfortable and scared, there is no wood shavings in that box too. Boring? When a hamster is bored, it would chew things like the cage bars or plastic house or bowl. If it sleeps, it means it is comfortable, not bored.

Zzz... I already bought a new bigger cage for them already. For your infomation, that box is use when i was change the wood flakes.

This is the pic of my babies hammies.... They are WW type and the colors the babies comes out really varied.
One is grey, one is winter gold, one is agouti, and one is kind of black in color... Sorry if the photo is kinda blur. Just using my handphone camera.
