My hamsters already heated 3 times. 1 of that times unsuccessful = dead eaten by the previous babies. Now the 3rd time I placed them into a shoe box until they fully grown up.

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Dec 2 2007, 01:14 AM) It is normal, fight over territory. Not all dwarf hamsters can be communal. Some are ok in colonies or clans.... some just cannot and have to be loners. So separate is the best lah. My robo 2nd birth season...The contributor is the 1st season babies. And my robo also fight. But now ok already. Just seperate them for 1 or 1+ month then join the cages back together. Now all happy family This is why we always say.... breeding is never easy and hamsters cannot tell apart from son, daughter, wife, cousin, grandma.... to them, all opposite sex of the same species are potential mates and breeders while all same sex ones are potential enemies and territory hungry. |

But I can't control them. I only noticed it when I wake up. So should I seperate the male and female?

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Dec 2 2007, 03:27 AM) Means now you put parents and matured offspring all in 1 cage? That is so so so risky.... inbreeding can lead to shorter lifespan, health problems.... weak immune system. Nono. The 1st season hamsters same cage with the daddy. Then the latest birth de babies is with the mummy in another cage. When it is fully grown, then onli i'll seperate them. |

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ Dec 2 2007, 10:22 AM) Hmmm.... the wheel must be pretty loose. What wheel are you using? So far I'm using Habitrail wheels and have never seen that happen. Anyway, it won't really cause any problems so you need not worry. My wheel is those plug onto the cages there. But got complained too noisy so have to remove it. |

It depends on them. 1 day I saw the female butt suddenly like bengkak, so I removed her and put it in another cage. Few weeks, I put back all in a cage. They breed. Swt. I also dunno when they gonna breed also.
