We only managed to find a few pet shops nearby Jusco but didn't go in as it was raining heavily on Saturday.

We just bumped into this pet shop by chance after lunch on Sunday afternoon. We figure mostly all the pet shops might be closed on Sundays.

The Shih Tzus was cheap also RM500 only but no cert and microchip.

Anyway the hammies there looks like 3-4 weeks old. All so cute.

Momo is sable banded. Initially the fur is quite blackish but turning to slight brown now. smile.gif

Panda should be black banded syrian. Fumoffu is a black banded syrian.

Momo is sable banded syrian.

You can tell between a black and a sable easily. Black is a recessive gene that is totally black. Sometimes there will be a little greyish at the ends of a longhaired black's fur, and sometimes there will be a little brownish wash which is known as 'browning'. Blacks have black fur from the roots to the tip, except for the lightening or browning.

Sables have a cream undercolour and cream eye rings. The most common sable found is the sable produced from a black eyed cream and a hamster carrying the umbrous gene. The 'blackish grey wash' on the sable may vary and some can be as intense as black. But the eye rings would be a lot more obvious on darker specimens. Just look at the eye rings and lightly blow on the fur. There should be a cream undercolour.

Panda is a nickname generally used for black and white hamsters. In Malaysia we call black banded/recessive dappled/dominant spot syrians, panda. But in other places it may also mean black mottled campbells. Panda was actually used by pet shops as a 'cute' nickname to make them sell better.

Pet Safari and Pets Family are ok for few weeks old syrians.

The stall is on the right side of the main entrance of the Cineleisure if I remember correctly. Hamsters and GP are sold there. Even scorpions.

Don't think can recommend Carrefour as there is thread saying that Carrefour's pets are dead or half dead are being sold.

I havent been to Carrefour for a long time but my friend did say the hamsters are so sad.
The stalls always change either to right or left side of cineleisure, so the best way to find is to walk the whole stretch of stalls there. smile.gif I havent seen the GP before but I've seen hamsters, sugar glider, scorpions and that lizard thingy. sweat.gif

The conditions of their animals are not pitiful tho... even the sugar gliders last time was tame, clean and very cute... but they did selling very young hamsters.
Pet Safari Ikano has a very pitiful looking sugar glider. sad.gif

PS: I thot Fumoffu is from Carrefour? U must be very lucky then!

Fumoffu was from a pet stall in Giant Cheras. The only black banded there.

He is and still half tame... Every time want to play with him, he will open his mouth every time its near my fingers sad.gif

Anyway we saw that the owner knows about their pets and treat them ok. That is why we bought Fumoffu from them.

There is a sable banded there when we bought Fumoffu. The rest are cream and golden bandeds.

The pet shop is just after Hospital Besar Ipoh and before you enter the new town of Ipoh. it's a corner lot. I don't remember the name and as well as the street name as I'm not good in that. You can see a car spraying shop at the other corner. I think thats all the landmark I can give. Erm... the shop is beside a white single building (some restaurant or cafe I think). Yoe should be able to find that shop as you go slow after the Hospital Besar Ipoh. The shop sells mainly birds. Good luck in your search. tongue.gif
