Happy New Year people! Have some news:

1. I think Mini is not pregnant lah, haha. She doesn't look pregnant anymore and no pups also. I think she just getting fat, despite the nesting behaviour.

2. Bought Sanko wild wheel 21cm in Singapore!! MoFo is loving it! Got it bit cheaper than here, cost me RM55, hehe.

3. I LOST MY N95 8GB in Singapore. It was stolen. So sien.

Should have tumpang u to buy the Sanko wheel for my new member - Fumoffu. Too late now

Congrates on the new addition to the family. So niceeeeeeee... One thing I realised, syrians get tamer as they grow older. They are least freaked out of human if they are bigger... in my case, the babies got friendlier according to their sizes, haha. Since Mokie is the biggest when I got him, he is friendlier the quickest. But I think it applies to all animals... kittens are always bit cautious when they are small.

MoFo is a bicolor too... he has one pink eye and one dark ruby eye.

By the way, the owner who poked with ruler must be bitten before! Served him right! I hope he gets bitten again!

dark ruby eye or ruby eye? i thought that ruby eyed syrian is extremely rare.

Hmm I actually already replied to this, but my post is lost, haiyak.
Anyway, I just leave them for 2 days, I just leave enough food and water for the 2 days I am away. Came back at 2am and faster put more food and gave MoFo his new wheels. Heheh...
I got cheaper because got discount at the Pets Lover Center, if not same price also I think. When I went there, only 1 Sanko 21cm wheel left. Maybe cheaper at smaller petshop but i just saw only 1... but no 21cm wheel, just the 17cm sanko wheel there.

MoFo is dark ruby I think... it doesnt look black but not also really red. So I think it's dark ruby on his right eye, pink on his left eye

But whatever it is, I am very glad she doesnt have babies too, more because of her sake than mine.

After few readings and reanne's info here, I gather that my babies are:

1. MoFo - Long hair cinnamon banded male syrian
2. Mokie - Long hair golden banded male syrian
3. Mobee - Short hair sable banded male syrian <-- but the sable like tak jadi, it's more brownish-greyish?
4. Mini - Long hair cream banded female syrian

Added on January 1, 2008, 8:59 pmOh my lord! I just discovered something about Mini. IT'S A HIM!!!!! LMFAO. For the first time I saw his balls! OMG. I never saw it before until just now!! Sigh. But it does look bit red tho... hmmm, could it be a tumor?

Mini was smaller than Mokie when I first got them, now they are about the same size and Mini's balls are bigger than Mokie. It looks like balls for sure but no hairs and red.

Now... I wonder if Mobee is really a male cos I can't see his balls yet. Err....

if it is a tumor, make sure you bring her to the vet.
if it is a sex organ,you have a boy.. dont make him a shemale..

Is the breeding.... normal for the hamster to sneeze once or twice but if you see your hamster constantly rubbing and cleaning it's face and nose, means it is having a bad allergy already. That means you have to change the bedding to say corn cobs or Breeder's Celect.

Dried mealworms look like normal mealworms

The cube one is tubifex worms.... cacing air, something like that.... smelly and is for fish ah, not hamster.

Not everything dried has less nutrition. For certain fruits, dried extracts the water out, making it more dense with fiber and high in sugars.... that is for fruits lah. If for meat, a bit not so good coz it has to be dried with a bit of salt...

How did it happen?

You didn't check Mini's sex properly? You don't need to wait for the balls to be noticeable. If you study the pictures for sexing a hamster closely, you would notice that the anus and genitals are closer for females and males are slightly further apart.

I DID! The holes WERE closer until I thot she was pregnant. Then no babies, the stomach area bit smaller and then wallah! BALLS. RED NON HAIRY BALLS.
But it doesnt matter if I was wrong Because they are syrians and they are infact need to be separated anyway, so no harm done. It's not like they are dwarfs and missexing means you end up with pups, since they can live together. And the fact I am not a breeder and never intended to be one makes no difference at all... I am perfectly fine with all boys anyway.

Hahah, no... he will not be a shemale altho I will keep calling him Mini, lol. Too late for a name change and I love the name and it kinda suits him... Mini hamster with max balls, LMFAO.

What is the color of Mobee? Is he a long hair or short hair?
When I first got him, he was about 4-6 weeks old... he has more brownish color (but I cant find brown banded syrians).
As he grows older... his fur became darker and you can see greyish blueish color coming out (head, body). He still has that brownish undercoat tho, on parts of his body. This a week old pics, he has more of that greyish-blueish tint now.

Mobee is not a Sable, he looks like an umbros. Golden Umbros.... I think that is it.

banded means with stripes of white, versus full colour (crazymouse picture of golden umbros is full coloured, not banded).
There is also other pattern such as dominant spot and roan.

I am just curious, since you have already misjudge Mini's sex, it is possible that Mobee is a long haired female?
Coz I asked Nezu before, and she explained that for long hair male syrian - the fur is very long one until like a moving ball of fur (i used to have 2 of these) but for long hair female, it is fluffy but will not grow as long as male. My momo is a long hair sable banded.
I am just wondering since your mobee fur looks longer than normal short hair syrian though.

Organic vegetarian supplement. Usually I add some water and rolled it into a ball for momo. Sometimes, i just sprinkle on the vege and put at a side of the bowl. She likes it a lot.
