My hamster was eaten by a stray cat not long ago.. sigh... anyway, I'm not planning to keep hamsters for the time being. Selling off my habitrail mini cage to whoever that's interested. Do check my sig. (sorry yyh for the small advertising. Hope you don't mind.)

cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif  me and my friend bought a male & a female hamster.few days ago it seems that the female had born 5 babies, but weird thing is,there is 4 worms along together.on the 2nd day,it seems that the male hamster died, and the females leg got bitten.the females seems to be fear, mentally or something,it kept jumping and crawling on the cage which really freak us out with her reaction. the babies and worms were all gone, the male hamster died while his eyes open, when we tried to oen the cage, the female hamster jump out from no where and it drop on the floor by 80 cm high yet it keep jumping and hopping on the floor.

what happened what happenedddddddddd cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

Your lack of research prior to breeding hamsters is basically your own fault. Take it as a lesson. No point being all sad over it already. The most probable thing that happened is that your male hamster caused chaos in the cage. Female hamsters tend to be protective when they have babies. Especially if it's a syrian hamster.. why didn't you separate them? Most likely the female felt threatened by the male, they fought.. and when some animals felt threatened, they eat their own babies because it's better for them to eat them rather than letting other predators have their babies.

Sigh.. if you don't quite understand what i've said above.. here's the conclusion. Your main mistake ---> Not separating the male and female hamster.
