This is as a result if you tint your rear windscreen 100% block or 0% Visible Light Transmission, you can't really see your rear windscreen hence rear view mirror will be rendered pointless.

So your only guidance for looking vehicle on the rear is your side mirror.

It's just a guideline for the 0%VLT. It's up to you to decide if you really want to tint up to 0%VLT for rear windows. Police will obviously target to stop and check those fully tinted ones whenever there is a road block rather than just wave and let you pass.

If you think you need the 0%VLT, then by all means do so. Nobody will stop you. It's not wrong. With the new BMW HID as bright as the sun, accidentally seeing one coming from behind at dead night might result in very much discomfort to the eyes as it shines directly into the cabin of the car filling it with a UFO like lighting from X-Files.

It's all up to you! Nobody is forcing you for the 0% VLT.

I support this new ruling..

If both rear windows and rear windscreen are blocked, I guess it's "safer" if you leave your bags at the back of your car.  Not easy to see if just the front passenger and driver side windows are allowed 50%VLT.

Also, those bag snatching rempits who ride motor from the back can't see how many occupants in the car. They usually target single lady drivers.

No need to pay anything unless you want your whole car 100%VLT.

Those of you not used to have a darkened rear windscreen don't have to tint it. It's up to you.
