Hi all,
Appreciate if you guys can provide me some suggestions. I have a diamond ring to sell off. I know diamond has no resale value. However, it's pointless for me to keep the ring anyway.
I am not sure whether the boutique where I bought the ring from will accept trade in. Or buy it back with much lower price. Probably will lose 60% of value. I'm thinking to sell it on Carousell, Mudah etc.
What do you guys think?

Half price of the ring value? Btw. How does selling online work? COD? Then the buyer will bring cheque or? How to ensure it is a safe transaction for both parties?

And if you don't mind, please share what is the item you are trying to sell, and your prefer sale price? Good luck. This post has been edited by kambingkoh: May 6 2019, 12:16 PM

Try this: https://www.pricescope.com/sell-your-diamond, see if you can get a quote. Actually pajak gadai might take in also, but you will suffer heavy loss.

Hi, sorry for disappeared for so long and now coming back to this thread again. Wanna ask, do diamonds value goes up? For example, if my ring is worth 10k. If I sell it now vs I sell it 10 years later, which will give me higher return? Or it doesn't have much difference due to inflation?

But then, it is about how you going to sell it. And does anyone willing to buy a 10 year diamond? I would think that they might buy it if you take it to the lab and grade it again to renew the grading report as there may be extra advances in grading technology during that time. Overall, unless you are very sure what you doing, I won't recommend diamond as an investment tool.

Mine was slightly lower than 30k, 0.5x carat, C brand. But the shop will buy back according to your purchase price, right? Not according to current market price.
